Description: On the water's edge on Kaanapali Beach, Hula Grill offers a stunning view of the Pacific and of the islands of Lanai and Molokai that has to be seen to be believed. From this distinctly Hawaiian vantage point, you are invited to join us as we celebrate the hospitality, culture and cuisine of the islands. Dinner is served in our open-air dining room where you can relax in the ambiance of a plantation era beach house while enjoying renown chef Peter Merriman's Hawaii regional seafood that isn't only a favorite of vacationers, but locals, too. Hawaiian fresh fish and locally grown produce are combined to create amazing menu offerings that are as colorful as they are flavorful. Fiery sunsets are served up daily along with live Hawaiian entertainment. Our Barefoot Bar offers a more casual menu serving both lunch and dinner under authentic thatch roof umbrellas and a sand floor where you can sink your toes in. The Barefoot Bar is seated on a walk-in basis only.

The entire experience was wonderful! Great food, super nice staff. The real star, however, was the super delicious pineapple upside down cake with Tahitian vanilla ice cream and a heaping swirl of toasted meringue on top. BEST dessert ever. Yum! I will most definitely go back just for that!!

There are several options for dining water-side at Whaler's Village. Hula has some of the best food and really good service.

We ate at the Hula Grill for the seven or eighth time and not much has changed, The drinks are good but not cheap, remember you are in Kaanapali. We waited about 10 minutes for a table which is not unusual. The food is reasonably priced if you resist the temptation to eat a bunch of appetizers. The salads are... More

We ate lunch at the hula grill after a recommendation from family. We just wanted a snack and ordered the Kahlua Pork Pizza. It was really good. And it was Amazing when you add the chili water provided! After a great lunch, we made a reservation later in our trip for dinner here. Which was a great decision. Our dinner... More

The food was excellent, the location is perfect, and the staff is personable . . . what more could you want? Oh, and it's reasonably priced too.

The sunset from this lovely location is something for the eyes and spirit to devour. So for the palate are the potstickers, Mac nut encrusted fish and caramel pineapple cake. Waiters are experienced and personable. Mai Tai excellent. A fav we can return to this paradise. Mahalo Hula Grille!!

Let's see. Been coming to Maui since 1999. Usually go to the Hula Grill at least once. Sometimes get the takeouts, although their food in a styrofoam container lacks a certain charm. We went on Halloween night, when they had a costume contest, but we left ours at home. Had I known, would have brought a costume. It was a... More

The coconut curry seafood chowder was amazing - best dish I had on Maui. the setting was perfect - just at sundown, with the catamarans coming into the beach.

We felt that the long wait to sit outside in the barefoot bar was excessive so opted for the inside dining room with no wait (no surprise there). Big mistake, Expensive and took forever to bring drinks. No offer of coffee or tea afterwards. We will not return.

Yes, the Hula Grill is located right in the heart of the resort area of Kaanapali, so it's somewhat crowded and full of tourists (as opposed to locals), but we had a really delicious meal here, and the atmosphere and service were very good. Loved the drinks, and the firecracker fish.
