Description: On the water's edge on Kaanapali Beach, Hula Grill offers a stunning view of the Pacific and of the islands of Lanai and Molokai that has to be seen to be believed. From this distinctly Hawaiian vantage point, you are invited to join us as we celebrate the hospitality, culture and cuisine of the islands. Dinner is served in our open-air dining room where you can relax in the ambiance of a plantation era beach house while enjoying renown chef Peter Merriman's Hawaii regional seafood that isn't only a favorite of vacationers, but locals, too. Hawaiian fresh fish and locally grown produce are combined to create amazing menu offerings that are as colorful as they are flavorful. Fiery sunsets are served up daily along with live Hawaiian entertainment. Our Barefoot Bar offers a more casual menu serving both lunch and dinner under authentic thatch roof umbrellas and a sand floor where you can sink your toes in. The Barefoot Bar is seated on a walk-in basis only.

Beautiful tropical setting, the views panoramic. Peter Merriman chef, created a table with fruits, local vegetables, salad, snapper left whole w/head. Iced tea. Hula dancers and music performed. Cost $$$

We had dinner at Hula Grill twice during the first two weeks of July 2014, both times with a party of eight. The food and service were excellent across the board. We've been eating here every year since Hula Grill took over for El Crab Catcher (many years ago), and I'm pleased to say Hula Grill has sustained a consistently... More

Located in a heart of a shopping/restaurant destination – surrounded by hotels. When I pulled up, felt like I was going to a shopping mall which turned me off, but ended up not being that bad as they have plenty of interest stores to kill time at. While this is part of a larger restaurant group, it does not fell... More

I didn't realise what a short walk whalers village was from the sheraton, but when we did, we found the the hula grill!! We got a table straight away, out on the sand, although it was busy. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. My partners burger was good and he really enjoyed the sweet maui onions. I had the pulled... More

Tried the "bar" side of the restaurant which has a more casual menu, but just what we wanted. Popular spot, especially at sunset, but they told us about 45 minutes, and maybe it was 20-25, so not bad. The fish and chips were excellent. Nice live island music, but not so loud you can't have a conversation. Considering the location,... More

In a high tourist area, but views, music and atmosphere keep bringing us back. Only have had the Pulled Pork sandwich (3-4 times) - just love it. Also the Mai Tai's are great. Aloha at its finest.

We made early dinner reservations and got a seat right on the water. The service was very attentive (our water was never empty, our server, Brenda, explained the menu and constantly checked on us.) The Chef's Tasting Menu was great - half portions of appetizer, entree and dessert for $25 - can you beat that on Maui (served only between... More

We ate on the bar and grill side unfortunately Our waiter completely forgot about us...never refilled our water or sodas....had to wait for bill. The BLT was just okay my daughter thought chicken sandwich was delicous. Maybe we would try it again...but with so many choices in Lahaina I may think twice.

Just don't go here unless you want a subpar, chain experience. I expected to be underwhelmed, and my expectations weren't even met.

Atmosphere is definitely tourist, nicely situated next to the beach. Convenient to those staying in the Ka'anapli Beach Resort hotels. The food was delicious but nothing exceptional and the service was friendly. As with other restaurants in Maui, the fish was fresh. Really enjoyed dessert course (huge ice cream sandwich). Generous portions nice view.
