Delightful Breakfast

While staying on Balboa Island, we stopped in at Wilma's Patio for breakfast one morning. The interior reminds you of good old down home goodness. From the front, it looks like a nice hole in the wall but once inside the place is really large & has everything from a bar to tables/booths to a... read more

During an outing to Balboa Island, we happened upon Wilma's for lunch. The food was wonderful. Most of us had fish and it was fresh and flavorful. There was 8 of us which they easily accommodated. The service was outstanding! It was as though every staff member was there to serve you and the word friendly was an understatement. I... More

Wilma's was recommended highly by the Concierge at our hotel and it did not disappoint. It's located on the main thoroughfare in the heart of Balboa with lots of shops located nearby. Everything our party of four ordered was delicious including eggs bendict, pancakes and waffles. The eggs benedict were some of the best we've ever had. Our server was... More

This is a fun place on Balboa Island. Sat right next to the sidewalk and watched people all afternoon, sipping on the best Margarita and the best quesadillas. I actually went back two days later and did the same thing. Great food, excellent wait staff - Alex is the best and he makes a

Six of us had lunch on the patio and were served by an enthusiastic waitress who enjoys her job (Lorraine). The meatloaf sandwich on grilled Parmesan cheese bread was great as well as huge and can be shared. Homemade soups daily, breakfast, lunch and dinner served. Our soup wasn't hot, so, all three were taken off the bill and she... More

Another great meal. Had the tuna melt and round cut fries. Didn't have to wait. Seated right away. Friends had great salmon salad and prime rib sandwich.

I recommend eating a late breakfast here. They were very accomadating, the food was very good and service was excellent! If you are on Balboa Island make this a stop. Every server waited on you, which was nice. Prices for the large plates was very reasonable.

I recently spent a couple hours on Balboa Island with my wife, we decided to try Wilma's Patio for brunch primarily because the first open parking spot we found was right in front of the restaurant. We walked up and down Main St and checked out a couple other options, in the end we liked the variety and options on... More

We went for breakfast and it was a pleasant place for a good meal. The fresh fruit plate and cornbread with the egg dishes were the best features. Great location on Marine Ave in the merchant district

Breakfast can be, well, breakfast or it can be a dining experience. This was just a large breakfast. Long lines for a large restaurant should have turned over faster than it did, mostly because of the very slow service & kitchen. Extensive menu and lots to eat, but to wait 45 minutes after ordering & not seeing a waitress is... More
