Cozy restaurant on a touristy main street in beautiful Newport Beach/Balboa Island. A few tables are located next to the front windows giving patrons an opportunity to people watch while dining if that's your thing. Visited during an early lunch hour and we pretty much had our choice of seating; midway through lunch the place was filling up. The complimentary... More

Visited balboa island one evening & happened along this restaurant. Not many customers when we went in but stacked when we left despite a lady telling us they may have to close early as no business!! The food was excellent. Quick & pleasant service from the guy behind the bar. He was very nice. Massive portions & proper glasses of... More

My chicken piccata with penne and veggies was tasty but my husband's bolognese sauce on penne was more in the sweet tomato side rather than a hearty beefy flavor. We'd try it again and order something different for him.

Service was good, salad was good but the recommended pasta dishes were unremarkable. I truly can't remember the last one I used salt let alone that much salt to add a little flavor. The pasta Angelo and my husbands linguine vongole had very little flavor. I would Not recommend this place.

Came from Newport for the day and chose Ciao from other travelocity reviews. I really like the small, intimate setting that's great for family, friends, couples etc. My husband, our 2 college girls, and 3 little ones found a dish : pasta, seafood, salad, soup each of us enjoyed. Service was very good.

Small restaurant. Very relaxing music playing. The spinach appetizer was very tasty. The bread is soft and delicious. The bread is served with a butter and olive tapenade and it is excellent. We ordered the egg plant with capellini on the side. Very well executed. I would eat here again. There is a split charge if you split a meal.

I had the chicken piccata which came with lots of fresh veggies and pasta. The description on the menu does not detail it so make sure you inquire. The dish had red sauce on penne which I can't eat and would not think would accompany the piccata sauce. I had to remove it as the aides were blending together. Flavor... More

Small Italian restaurant with pictures of the Rat Pack and different Italian themed movies on the wall. Food was very good. We had the linguine with clam sauce both red and white. Another person had the lobster ravioli. All was very good. Prices and service was good. The only draw back was no beer on tap and no craft beer.... More

A casual place for some very tasty Italian food! If you're traveling alone, this is a nice place to sit at the bar for a glass of wine and pizza.

Consistent quality and service. My wife and l have enjoyed eating here for for almost 10 years. Never disappointed. Sometimes Balboa Island is jammed with tourists so you might have to wait for a table. But if you are in a hurry you shouldn't come to Balboa Island. This is where we relax and unwind even if its crowded. I... More
