The food at Barbara Rosa's is fantastic. It isn't a restaurant with wait-staff and piped in music. But it feels like it fits Culebra to me. Small, local, variable hours, friendly and delicious. That's the Caribbean. We ate at all of the restaurants on Culebra, but it is Barbara Rosa's that we talk about.

Visiting Barbara's is something you just have to do, if you're lucky enough to catch her when she's open. You are basically eating on the porch of her house, and she's a very sweet woman. We were the only people there on the night that we went, so I don't know if that had an effect on the food or... More

This place feels like mom and pop decided to go to a garage sale and open a restaurant with the items purchased. Slow service decent food but nothing to rave about. Awful decor and furniture. Trailer park meets island setting! Daddy works the bar and should probably pour a little heavier. Drinks there are for sissies! Another meh place on... More

Barbara Rosa is an excellent one lady operation with home cooking Island style. Walk inside to order, enjoy a good conversation outside on the porch while your food is being cooked especially for you. BYOB if so inclined. Everything we had was wonderful and you cant beat the quaintness of the place. Just like at Mom's house you bring your... More

Great home cooked food! Period. In fact, it's exactly like stopping by mom's to have dinner. In fact, if I were her son I would be 40 and still living at home. She will stand and talk with you if it's not too busy and will give out some pretty good advice as well. Fortunately, the mosquitoes weren't bad when... More

The restaurant isn't open every night, so you should call before you go (or have a Plan B). On different occasions we had fish and chips, grilled fish and a breaded pork loin. The food is simple, more like home cooking than fancy chef preparation. However, everything we had was delicious and the portions were quite adequate. Prices are between... More

OK, Barbara Rosa plays a little hard to get. She's closed most of the time, she doesn't advertise, and you just have to believe that it's worth your time to keep checking to see if she's open. How you know is that while, normally she hangs a blanket over the restaurant sign, when she's open, the sign is uncovered. So,... More

Cool place I have nice woman serves food right out of her house. It's very unique experience but be open-minded and you will have a great treat. The food is good. Like a grandma's homemade meal. It is located on the main road coming to or from flamenco beach into town. Easily reached on foot from the town center. Hours... More

Barbara covers up her sign when she isn't open. You park on the rutted area that is where a lawn might be if it were not a parking area. The night we ate at Barbara's there were several parties that appeared to be friends/regulars along with us. Barbara cooks in a room in her house, you eat on the front... More

We arrived on Culebra late Sunday afternoon with no groceries and no golf carts were available. Thankfully, Barbara was open on a Sunday evening and in walking distance from where we were staying near the airfield. What a happy experience and a great way to begin our time and get settled into how things work on Culebra. We loved being... More
