Nice to be treated like a friend

The food is perfect. I especially liked the crab cakes. They contained lots of crab and were crunchy but not over cooked. The Key Lime pie was excellent. Barbara Rosa is a very simple restaurant with only 6 tables on a roofed porch. In the evening colourfull lights are lit so the restaurant gets a pleasant atmosphere, but it also seems to alert the mosquitos that it's feeding time for them. :) So if you're prone to get bitten, bring lots of bug spray ! The friendly restaurant... More

Barbara is pretty strict on what she will and won't do for her customers - like you have to bus your own table. But the food is wonderfully seasoned, lots of it, and is worth being there when she is open (which is sometimes only Thursday, Friday, and Sunday). Went there twice and loved the view from her porch and... More

The food here was fresh and simply prepared. It is understandably slow as the owner is doing all cooking and serving herself. Eating on the porch was pleasant (The mosquitos weren't bad when we were there, but it's worth bringing bug spray.) It's BYOB, which makes the already reasonable prices even better. We mixed up some drinks and got ice... More

If you see the 'Open' sign stop in immediately! Don't come back later, because it might not be open and you will miss out on some really amazing cooking! Barbara is a wonderfully friendly lady who you can talk to while she cooks in her kitchen. There are only a few tables and chairs on the front porch that fill... More

We ordered the grouper, large piece of fish cooked to perfection, moist and tasty!!! Came with salad and potato wedges which were also delicious. You can bring your own alcohol, we will next time. Thank you Barbara Rosa for an excellent meal.

I'll never understand why this place isn't rated in the top three. Barb is a great cook, and the prices are affordable. Put in your order at the counter, wait at your table until she calls your name, pick up your meal. When you are done return your plate and they pay for your meal. Bring your own beverages. There... We had a delicious fresh grouper dinner here. It came with homemade French fries & a salad. Dinner for 2 came to $30 without the tip. It was a fabulous fresh dinner here. Better than most of the other restaurants in town that charge twice as much! We will definitely be back.

we were referred to Barbara Rossa's by Maureen and Cliff at Casa Resaca. And we were not disappointed! You enter her house via her large front porch, then through her Living Room to a window//pass-thru into her kitchen. There in the kitchen is the lovely and talented Barbara Rossa, preparing dinner unaided, for as many guests as can fit at... More
