Good bread

Bread very good here, but selection very limited. Not always someone there when we went in--but they came back later if we were willing to wait.

We so much loved the typical Caribbean cakes Christine baked that we came back day after day after day.

This bakery used to be a favorite stop while visiting JVD over two decades. However, Christine died in 2013, and the place is run now by either Christine's daughter (very nice) or more often a very unfriendly lady who seemed bothered by our visit. We had to ask for a bag and napkins! We bought one cinnamon roll {instead of... More

Christines is easy to find on the side street just turn up the main street when you reach the police station. You will see it on the right. Much like other TA reviewers report her cinnamon rolls are very dry but that could be just due to the weather. I would recommend skipping them and getting the banana bread which... More

Christine's is just a short walk down a side street. Well worth it. The coconut bread is moist and different. Great toasted for breakfast. We had someone with us that does not like coconut and he ate it also. It really doesn't taste like coconut; I think the coconut adds to the moisture of the bread.

We walked down to Christine's Bakery later in the afternoon. I was concerned whether or not she would be open based on previous reviews, but found her sitting on the front porch. We purchased a LARGE chocolate chip cookie, apple turnover, a big piece of carrot cake, and a coke. It was only $8. The best bargain on the beach.... More

We just needed a quick bite, but enough to fill us up for the day. Homemade breakfast sandwiches, made to order. Hits the spot!
