Ate here recently with a friend and wasn't real impressed. Perhaps in summer when you can sit outside and enjoy location and fresh fish it might be better. Wait staff was friendly and efficient. So give this just an ok!

I met my daughter and granddaughter Sunday 1/4/15 at Mallards at the Wharf for lunch. We meet there for two reasons, one it's a midway point for each of us and two, the restaurant is so accomodating. This is our second visit to this restaurant and we'll be back again. Our server was so nice and patient with us while... More

A friend and I were returning to Delaware from Virginia Beach (VA). It was lunchtime and we were very hungry, so I consulted the "Near Me Now" function on my iPhone's TripAdvisor app, and up popped Mallards. We were welcomed by two grandsons of the owner and then led into the dining room. The owner seated us by the window... More

Nothing special to get excited about at the Mallard. Fairly run of the mill fried seafood and one or two menu items such as broiled or grilled fish seem to be sensible choice. Dining area appears to be a bit run down and cramped and outside tables were just too hot for lunch.

Mallard's is situated at the end of town next to the creek that feeds out to the Chesapeake Bay. The crab cakes are a huge hit!

Dont expect to get ES seafood here. The day that we were there the soup of the day was cream of mushroom, it came to the table lukewarm at best and overpowered with blue cheese I could not finish it. Average fish sandwich nothing fancy, very average. My wife had smoked salmon on pita topped off with bacon again not... More

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner on the deck overlooking one of the prettiest waterways on the Shore last Friday. I had the broiled fish with rice and grilled asparagus. Delicious, moist and very fresh. My companion had the sea scallops with a chipotle aioli sauce and polenta cake. Too spicy for me, but he enjoyed it! You can't beat the setting... More

This was our first time eating here and it definitely will not be our last. We came for lunch and it was delicious. The butternut squash soup was very good. I had the bacon, lettuce, green fried tomato sandwich on flatbread and it was delicious. My husband had the smoked salmon, bacon, lettuce and tomato on flatbread and he was... More

I went there today, for the first time. I ordered the fried grouper sandwich. They brought me a slimy undercooked fillet. I complained and they made me another one. This time it was clearly cooked through, but it was still slimy, and I don't think it was grouper. It looked like a pollack fillet and tasted like a frozen fish... More

Dear patron, Hello my name is Johnny Mo. I am the chef and owner of Mallards at the wharf. I am very disappointed to hear your opinion of the lunch you experienced at my restaurant. Had a tasty meal here. You can eat cheap or eat pricey. Up to you. The fish was fresh, the people friendly and vibe was chill. Would come back anytime. Enjoy.
