We stopped by on our trip to Chincoteague and were really impressed by this place. Great sandwich menu, kids menu and full bar. Out door seating is actually on the wharf, so great atmosphere. The staff was very friendly, accommodated some special requests easily and made us feel at home.

The sweetest find ever! Best crab cakes I have ever tasted! A very comfortable setting in a small historical town! If you get the chance stop in ask for Brenda, you will not be sorry!

Stopped here for lunch on way to Outer Banks. Lovely village and we had a light, but wonderful lunch at Mallards. Sat on the shaded deck with a nice breeze and view of the harbor. Great service from our waiter, David. I had the pulled pork sandwich (and it really was "pulled" pork, not chopped like others) and my wife... More

We frequent mallards often as we are locals and enjoy coming here on a hot summer evening for dinner and drinks after a boat ride. Dinner on the deck as the sun sets is an added bonus. I have come to greatly enjoy the fish taco, but I must say...for a dinner portion one taco is simply not enough. I... More

We loved the atmosphere. It's in an old building with lots of history. A part of the restaurant even has several displays showing the history of the building. Oh, and the food was good, too! We also had great service- our waitress could not have been more attentive. If you are in Onancock, be sure to eat here.

Relaxing atmosphere on the wharf with great views. Leave plenty of room for the Smith Island Cake. Can be very busy on a summer weekend

The crab cakes were perfect...no filler! Beautiful setting and friendly wait staff. One of the chefs chatted with me outside....just a great place!

Crab cake was so-so; no lump meat detected and came plain on a bun. For the price, lettuce and tomato should have been included. My husband's burger was decent. Service was sub par also considering the number of customers there. One guy even walked out because no one came to his table to take his order or acknowledge he was... More

Mallard's food is wonderful all around- including catering- but without a doubt the crab cakes are as good as any I've had anywhere. They are truly pure crab with just enough other ingredients to keep it stuck together. No fillers, green peppers, or anything else to offset the 100% crab flavor. Try it and you'll see. In addition, Johnny Mo... More
