Visited on a day without electricity but still a nice time had

The day we visited the hotel they were without electricity. Soup and sandwiches was still very nice though and the staff very helpful. Would like to go back to try the full menu!

Spent Hogmanay on this lovely island and went for dinner on our last night. Food was poor. Temperature of food was too cold, scallop with cold black pudding - followed by fish and chips again cold. Young chef who was obviously doing his best so we paid up and left but wouldn't eat there again, what a shame!

Went in for lunch, and we were quite late - about 2.30pm. We were told we could have soup and/or sandwiches which was fair enough. The soup however was in a huge plate and a disgusting colour - it was pumpkin and turnip. We could not finish it, nor did we want to, but why could they not improve it's... More

Wow, what can I say? So much! A lovely stay at the hotel - all of the staff were very cheery and helpful and so friendly! Ken and Angela and Valerie were wonderful! Our breakfast each day was very good and hot! Fiona, our server was lovely, Hilda was an amazing cook! The chef made us the most amazing Gigha... More

We chose to come to the hotel one morning for breakfast after reading some good reviews on Trip Advisor. When we got there we asked for a table for two for the breakfast. The receptionist led us to the seating area and handed us off to the waitress who said "oh, just chuck them over there". Then after sitting down... More

Went in for dinner in the restaurant, the food was pretty poor and fairly expensive, and the waitress was nowhere to be seen for most of the meal, only coming out of the kitchen long enough to serve food. Had seafood pasta which was in an odd cheesy chickeny sauce with mussels which looked like they were nuked. The halibut... More

Had a Pleasant couple of beers here. Chatted with the proprieter. Has just taken over the hotel these last few months. Intends to improve facilities. Beer was tasty (pipes clean), prices for food and beer reasonable. Worth a visit, as is the whole Island!

My wife and I stayed at Gigha Hotel for a couple of nights in July 2015. First of all, we would like to say thank you to Angella, the hotel manager for her warm hospitality. The hotel management did everything to make our stay enjoyable. We also loved what the new management do in order to improve every aspect of... More

Visited Gigha Hotel for lunch last Thursday. It was strangely very quiet when we arrived. The manager assured us lunches were available and proceeded to run through the menu which offered a good choice. We opted for halibut goujons which arrived beautifully presented with chips & peas. I wish I had taken a photo! The meal tasted as good as... More
