What a brilliant evening out. The food was out of this world - a pleasure to be able to choose from a refreshingly original menu, with hardly any of the usual fare. We were two couples and we were all blown away to one degree or another. Try the pork trio, which is nothing short of - well, a gastronomic... More

Have had the pleasure at eating at Bens restaurant on several occasions over the last few years and would highly recommend it. The food is delicious and the service 1st class. Looking forward to eating here again soon

Nice ambiance and great service - just the right level of attentiveness without being intrusive. We went for the 4-course menu. Portions seem to be tailored appropriately as we didn't leave uncomfortably full - including bread rolls and a couple of between-course amuse-bouche. Prices (both food and wine) were reasonable for a place of this standard. All that said, we... More

We booked a table for four more than two weeks ahead because we know they get quite busy even during the week. Our booking is for 23rd September 2014, with friends from New Zealand who have visited the restaurant before. As we arrive in the car park, we thought it was odd that there was not a single car there.... More

We came here with a family group and had a wonderful leisurely meal. The staff were attentive without being overwhelming. Most people had the duck and I had the pigeon, which was delightful. The composition of the dishes was perfect and the taste sublime. At just under £300 for six with an evening's worth of wine drinking, the price was... More

We got a 3 course meal. The food was wonderfully delicious and tasty. We enjoy the local English wine. The service was incredibly slow. It took more than 3 hours. If they rectifies they deserve the 5 stars. We got an extra "soup" because of the wait. It was also rich delicious. The chef deserves credit We got a 3... More

We were incredibly lucky to get in here, normally it's necessary to book several weeks in advance, I rang up at about 4 hours notice just on the off-chance that they might have space, and as it happened someone cancelled. I'd heard good things about the place already, and having watched Ben (Piet, the co-owner and head chef) cook at... More

If you want somewhere truly special for a lovely meal stovells is second to none. London house has a long waiting list and therefore has a difficult booking system in which you email them and they get back to you. Anyway that's not a huge issue. The food is nice don't get me wrong but having been to stovells we... More

My wife and I went here for our wedding anniversary meal, having heard good things about this restaurant. Service was very good, atmosphere fine, but I didn't find the food and drink as good as the welcome and surroundings. We had a glass of house Sauvignon Blanc which was a bit flat, then had starters - I had a "platter"... More
