Excellent light lunch.

Decided to have a light lunch before doing a ramble in the area. Lunch so good that did not need to cook in the evening and was very reasonable cost.

Enjoyed an impromptu visit for an early dinner at Sands and were treated to a well cooked, fresh and inspiring meal with nice ale, 80's music (which suited our ages) and pleasant staff in comfortable surroundings. Job done!

I came here for lunch back in the summer, and it was a very quiet location. We sat in the garden and had the most wonderful burgers. The service is fantastic. The garden has some nice pergola type areas to sit under and escape from the sun. We took a walk across the common after our lunch. I suspect that... More

A hidden delight, with a nice atmosphere and good quality service, hidden away in the woods it's very much a discovery, but the food is of a great quality and we shall be returning

Arrived at Sands for family get together Sunday Lunch on Sunday 30 November. Greeted by friendly welcoming staff who immediately offered us coffee after our long journey (even though the Restaurant was not quite ready to open and we were early) The coffee was excellent quality. Wife, self and two friends had dinner last Friday. Admittedly, the service was "paced" as there was a large party in the private dining room. But we enjoyed time to catch up and sip some very acceptable Chilean white. The meal itself was very good: one mighty, tasty burger, two roast chicken and duck-three-ways (special mention for the duck which... More

Food and staff as always were excellent. Chef is adventurous and pulls it off brilliantly. Staff were just the right mix of attentive but not pushy. Dreadful people at the next table ate all their food and then spent 20 minutes complaining. I've personally in 20 years in the catering industry never heard such utter rubbish from a customer. The... Always a good spot for lunch, change of menu on a regular basis and a good mix of customers, some from the nearby Hospital, Samsung or McLaren and locals too. Main room is split so a few areas if you want quiet or a larger bar area you can pick. In the summer outside is nice with a feel of... More
