This might well be the best curry in Woking but tonight we waited an hour and half for its arrival - a free bottle of beer doesn't cut it I'm afraid, at 10.10pm I'm opting for cheese on toast and bed, not my convenient take away, to arrive. Wouldn't mind but we phoned twice to see where it was....

I came here on a Groupon deal, not expecting the earth but just looking for a pleasant and reasonably priced curry with my wife. Like so many other reviewers before me, I found the food to be good - but the service was an absolute joke. It was a Saturday night and there were about six serving staff on duty.... More

Came here over Xmas, having ordered once or twice. We only came here as it was on our walk back from the red lion. Staff are miserable and have an attitude. Food isn't great. We ordered 2 so called "signature dishes". Read overcharged standard dishes. Both looked and tasted the same. Very average. And it repeated on me for 24... More

We visit this restaurant regularly but was recently warned "The service is appalling on a Saturday". Shame we didn't listen. We arrived early 6.15pm and to be honest they found us a table all be it in a bit of an odd position but we only wanted to eat it wasn't a romantic night out. First question was "have you... More

The Balaka used to be great, but the last two times We have been there on a Saturday it has been pretty chaotic and the stress of the waiter trying to keep it all together was palpable. On this occasion, other customers were going to the main desk to complain about the poor service and food, and our main was... More

We went to this restaurant on a Groupon voucher. The food was decent but we found the service to be below average as felt that we were not looked after i.e. waiter was a bit rude and was not available when required. Overall, a decent night out but I would say that the customer service needs to be looked into...

we had a groupon deal so thought we would try the place out as we hadn't before, we were surprised how big it was inside as it looks small from the outside. We sat at our table, ordered our drinks and poppadoms, which arrived promptly, plenty of chutney and pickles with them. Then we ordered our mains, I went for... More

Visited the Balaka Indian restaurant a handful of times. Favourite is the mixed meat tandoori which is excellent value with melt in the mouth meat. Generous portion and full of flavours. Have had a couple of curries here which have been good. The menu is different, varied and offers some unusual dishes that are definitely worth trying. The staff are... More

One of the nicest we've had in a long time (we kept the leftovers for tomorrow - we normally throw them away!) Highly recommend!
