Interesting, traditional pub

This pub is very busy at lunchtime, with most customers relatively young. There is a very good choice of real ales (but no mild, sadly) and the menu, although not particular extensive, offers a reasonable choice of meals at sensible prices. Situated close to the town centre and on the historic Toad Lane close to the Pioneers Museum in Rochdale. You are assured of a friendly welcome and good food as well as a discount for CAMRA members off the many choices of real ale.

We popped in here for a few hours, good beers and great atmosphere, very busy. The staff were friendly and only a short walk from the trams, just don't use your sat nav on your phone because it takes you the long way round. Will visit here again when I am up here. By the way we didn't eat here... More

No need to over emphasise this eatery. It's always warm and friendly, has great food and a fantastic range of beers and ales - especially local craft ales. The best surprise is that we've never been disappointed!

I have tried the hot beef baguette in other places but nothing compares to The Baum. Always busy so advisable to book a table. Lots of menu choices and specials. I believe it does excellent real ale but I am tee-total so can't comment on this!

This place is small on the outside but huge internally. It has a series of spaces, each with a different character as are the clientele, it is very cosmopolitan. I think it also has a restaurant upstairs but we just had a bar snack which was good quality, quantity and value. They had a range of unusual beers but also... More
