If we ever find ourselves travelling down M5 on our way home to Cornwall we like to stop off at Portishead, have a walk around the lovely marina, amble up and down the small town high street, then pop into this pub for lunch.......deals in the week are excellent and we have always had good service and food.......called at 2pm... The place seemed to lack any kind of atmosphere - 8:30 on a Saturday night and it wasn't far from deserted. The food itself was certainly good - not exceptional but good but unless there really is an abstract theme going on the carpets seemed grubby and finding 2 matching chairs on any one table as a challenge I failed... Restaurants with the word 'fayre' in the name make my skin crawl, and on the rare occasions that I eat in one the food I usually is just as bad as I excected. However, despite the dreadful name I have to admit that the breakfast was perfectly adequate and even the coffee was OK. No complaints at all.

Stayed overnight at the lovely Premier Inn, but should have eaten before I got there. The food at the Brewers Fayre was terrible. Had the pate for starters which was looked like cat food. The mains of quiche was tasteless, hard and inedible. Only the wine was decent. I had a table by the window, which allowed me to rest... More

Took my boys there for lunch n they loved it! The kids play room was great at keeping them entertained for a couple of hours while I caught up with a friend. Food was cheap so didn't expect much but the portions were huge and it was tasty. It was pretty quiet but the staff were really friendly and cheerfull,... More

The breakfast buffet is £8.75 per adult and this also includes up to 2 children for free. We use it a lot. The choice is good and the manager and staff are friendly and helpful. If it's not busy the hot food (bacon, eggs, beans etc) are not on the buffet - you place an order for what you want... More

Well I've had 2 spend the last 2 months living in the hotel next door due 2 unforseen circumstances and can't cook so have therefore been using Brewster's nearly every day, every day at some point for 2 months whether it's breakfast, lunch, or tea and on most cases 2 of them and I can honestly say I couldn't think of... Came here today for an impromptu birthday lunch with my daughter and grandchildren. No booking made but we were able to get a table thankfully. The food was great and the service was excellent. The waiter even found a candle and put it on my daughter's dessert which was very kind of him.

Family get together turned into one stressful meal with one meal not arriving, three cold and the rest warm. Manager did compensate but won't be going back in a hurry.
