I went to the Windmill with my son on Tuesday. The pub was clean and well decorated, the views are fantastic, the staff were very welcoming and the service was excellent. We had a lovely lunch which was one of the best pub meals i have ever had. My compliments to the bar staff, management and kitchen. We would recommend... More

We attended a Wake and this was my first visit to the pub and I made this clear at the time. I bought several rounds but later my impression took a turn for the worse. A small red wine was poured into a large red wine glass making it look ridiculous. When I asked for a small red wine glass,... More

Took family & a business associate to the windmill, myself & my wife ordered the tuna steak from the chalk board,, fortunately my associate & other family members didn't ,,, I say fortunately because although they were not over impressed with the service & food , they were spared 2 days of stomach cramps , vomiting and diarrhoea,,,,, this is... I visited the windmill inn today for a first time. Not again the staff are hostile to new clientele. In the past my friends told me to visit a family run business. I guess I got there too late and realise that this is another brewery owned establishment. What a waste? The locals, well they are different! I met one... More

After reading many reviews on TA, decided to head for a meal at The Windmill Inn. Four of us arrived at 5pm. Upstairs was very busy with most tables full so sat downstairs where it was less busy, but it wasn’t long before the tables started to fill up. Plenty of seating though. A nice ambiance and festively decorated throughout... More

The only irritating thing is you have to queue up to order whilst they are taking money from a previous client. Silly and annoying but the pub grub is good and the fish cakes (home made) are superb. Great views on two levels and I imagine it is wonderful in the summer. Pretty good though whatever the weather with amazing... More

Met a friend and his partner for lunch, their suggestion to eat here. Despite the location and views, I flinched. Last couple of meals had been less than inspiring. Great news, the food is back on track and we left happy and smiling, I would have missed the view, now I can enjoy the food. Well done, good food and... More

Our first visit to the Windmill since Fullers took over was not a good experience and a letter I wrote to the then manager was not answered. When the new manager took over I received an invitation to return. My husband and I both ordered without looking at the menu: gammon and chips, one of our favourites, but when it... More

We visited as a group as we were staying nearby. Good for parking and in a really nice location, the views are great in the day. The pub is welcoming but not as traditional as id normally like. Didn't expect to order food at the bar, however service was good and my steak was cooked well. Decent beer selection, overall... More
