I was a bit disappointed with the Trivet after reading the great reviews on Tripadvisor. I met a friend for coffee and cake and we went upstairs as the few seats downstairs were all taken. The stairs are incredibly steep and narrow; you need to take great care on them. Once upstairs I found the décor and furnishings tired and... More

Only a small, quaint restaurant/bistro thing in the centre of town but tucked away right beside the market. We went in for breakfast and the eggs benjamin was gorgeous. All the staff are polite and friendly, the presentation and quality of food is 1st rate, but very reasonably priced. Small, compact, cosy. ...but a real gem of a place. Not... More

Got to say this little place is a gem, Mall and quaint, but the food is out of this world, fresh and lively and piled high , excellent value

Excellent coffee and tasty snacks. It is very small. On the occasions we have met friends there we have asked for a table to be reserved. A place out of the way but well worth a visit

Great food but the young staff run and stomp up and down the stairs which spoils the atmosphere shame as it use to be a great place

Just by chance ,whilst walking down a small side street on our way to Newark Market, we were lucky enough to discover this little gem . We decided to stop and enjoy delicious coffees and light bites. We enjoyed their beautifully presented and tasty sauteed mushrooms and cheddar on a crumpet, goats cheese and pesto on a ciabatta, posh cheese... More

It doesn't take much these days to show your appreciation. Just a simple nod, or a 'thanks', is usually what you get. But at the Trivet, you are greeted with a friendly welcoming smile and then sent on your way with a genuine," thanks for coming". The food is always excellent. I can take my clients there knowing that the... More

On top of the regular, fairly extensive & varied menu (including the very moreish cakes) just now they have a range of summer salad specials. The goats cheese & mushroom with tomato, peppers, onion & assorted leaves is simply scrumptious! We'll be back for the other varieties soon - before they're taken off! And then, as others have said, there's... More

After sampling the murky delights of various coffee houses I must conclude that Alex, Rose and Co serve the tastiest coffee in Newark. Add in a home made cake and it's heaven. Well worth a visit, a regular one. Thanks to all for such a great time.

Trivet is one of our favourite restaurants - small but perfectly formed! We usually call in for breakfast/brunch when we're in Newark and cannot fault it. The food is always delicious and the coffee perfect. We had afternoon tea on one occasion which was brilliant with a selection of gorgeous sandwiches and slices of the most delicious cakes apparently made... More
