Tonight's meal at Samsi (Wilmslow) was a fantastic treat. Not in the quietly surprised fantastic, but in the stumbled upon a very, very special restaurant kind of way. An EXCEPTIONAL treat. And before I start, I write this with the disclaimer of being a past 'regular' and a fan of Samsi. This makes no difference whatsoever. Tonight was something COMPLETELY... More

The starter of sushi was not fresh - even thought it was prepared from the beginning. The noodles from the Ramen soup tasted like they were from packet. This was the same quality of food as if it were bought from a supermarket. Professionalism of staff needs looking at - waiter served me after just finishing a cigarette at the... More

Went for an impromptu meal out after we all got home late on a Monday evening. Wonderful, tasty and fresh sushi, hand rolls, sashimi, dumplings... We could have eaten the whole menu! Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Will definitely go back and would recommend.

I came in with my mum and sister, we had delicious chicken dumplings to start, then shared a selection of sushi which tasted so fresh and really, really lovely. I've been to many sushi restaurants and this was clearly the best. The restaurant was really clean and had a great relaxed atmosphere and the staff were friendly and attentive. A... More

We went for a quite meal for two. First impressions... Looks like a cheap cafe. The whole place is very dated and not particularly clean. It's in desperate need of a refurb. The staff were friendly but have no communication with each other, we were served by different people though out the evening. On a positive note, the food was... More

Samsi is our go-to place when we fancy something different than the norm. On the numerous times we've been the food has always been tasty, plentiful and really enjoyable. We usually have one of the banquets (Samurai or Sumo Wrestler if really hungry!) as you get a nice spread of different types of Japanese food from sashimi, miso soup, sushi,... More

I live in Wilmslow and due to the limited number of restaurant options, we sometimes commit the mistake of coming back in here, every time wishing it will be better than the last time. The problem is that they ALWAYS get something wrong. Once I went to pick up take away, there were 4 staff playing a guessing game and... More

I went with the kids for Fathers Day. The food was terrible. It was actually shocking - so poor that we paid our £75 and went to Pizza Express for pizzas and ice cream. We found the chicken was the cheapest grey stuff possible, the salmon was off and strong smelling, the edamame beans out of date, the service awful....... More

Last month I visited Samsi with a friend of mine and we were both struck by the variety and high standard of the dishes available. The staff were very friendly and if it was a little expensive I consider it money well spent! All in all a fantastic experience of Japanese food and drink which I highly recommend to others!... More
