The signature dish of Cyprus - Kleftiko literally means "stolen lamb”. The story goes that the "Greek Kleftes," Bandits who hid in the mountains, would sometimes steal a lamb for food. They cooked it sealed tightly on a buried pit of coals to keep a low profile, and not give away their hideout by sight and smell. My paternal Grandfather 'George' was known for his Lamb and Goat rearing in Famagusta, Cyprus. His Farm produced milk to make the famous Cypriot cheese Halloumi and his lambs were a treat to eat. The Restaurant will continue to use the finest local produce specializing in Cheshire Lamb.My maternal Grandfather, also called George, was famous for cooking the signature dish, in both his village of Kyrenia Cyprus where he was taught, and continues now in Manchester. We will be using the same recipe to cook the dish here at the restaurant. (We are lucky as his recipes are unique and he keeps them close to his heart). The restaurant embraces old Family recipes combined with new style to offer the ultimate Greek Dining Experience. Our cooking methods include, using a traditional wood-fired clay oven and a coal fired BBQ to give the full flavour to our food.Chef George & the team

Slightly different Greek restaurant

Nice Greek restaurant. Familiar Greek menu with a few modern twists. Nice friendly service and they looked after us with a lively 2 year old. Not particularly cheap but they have some particularly good dishes that are worth the money.

The food was delicious. Highly recommend the meze. It allowed us to try as much as possible. Service was very friendly but professional. The gentleman who served us, was coping very well on his own despite there being about 8 tables in. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. Especially with our Gourmet Society offer! We will be back... More

We had an absolutely excellent meal at The Stolen Lamb, and would highly recommend the fish mezze. The service and attention to detail was superb. The owner George took time to explain each serving of the mezze and was a great host throughout the evening. We will certainly return again.

We don't have many Greek restaurants close to us but hubby was given free rein for where to go for his birthday and picked this for a change from the usual Italian or steakhouse. Food was lovely. We shared the pitta bread and dips starter and there was plenty of bread which was warm and delicious. I had the kleftiko... More

Had a great dining experience at this restaurant. We chose the mezeh four courses and ordered a red wine, which was not available,so George brought an alternative wine, which,as it turned out,was more expensive, and let us have it for the same price as our original choice. This was a good start to the feast we were about to be presented with. I... More

Love the Stolen Lamb! The food is like nothing else I've tasted and, as every dish is presented, you are told what it is, how it has evolved (George's personal touches!) and where it has been sourced! Already looking forward to our next visit!

Visited the Stolen Lamb for the start of a Hen Party. George was very accommodating for the group of us. He recommended the tasting platter which was fab. Everything on the platter was top quality. I am not a fan of Greek food usually but this was the most delicious food I have eaten. Would say it is a bit... More

Have eaten in this restaurant a number of times and it has always been very good. We enjoyed a lovely meal last Saturday night. The restaurant was extremely busy but the atmosphere was good and the staff were very efficient. The squid starter was cooked perfectly as were the main courses, I had the speciality lamb and my husband had... More
