The signature dish of Cyprus - Kleftiko literally means "stolen lamb”. The story goes that the "Greek Kleftes," Bandits who hid in the mountains, would sometimes steal a lamb for food. They cooked it sealed tightly on a buried pit of coals to keep a low profile, and not give away their hideout by sight and smell. My paternal Grandfather 'George' was known for his Lamb and Goat rearing in Famagusta, Cyprus. His Farm produced milk to make the famous Cypriot cheese Halloumi and his lambs were a treat to eat. The Restaurant will continue to use the finest local produce specializing in Cheshire Lamb.My maternal Grandfather, also called George, was famous for cooking the signature dish, in both his village of Kyrenia Cyprus where he was taught, and continues now in Manchester. We will be using the same recipe to cook the dish here at the restaurant. (We are lucky as his recipes are unique and he keeps them close to his heart). The restaurant embraces old Family recipes combined with new style to offer the ultimate Greek Dining Experience. Our cooking methods include, using a traditional wood-fired clay oven and a coal fired BBQ to give the full flavour to our food.Chef George & the team

Visited the Stolen Lamb for the start of a Hen Party. George was very accommodating for the group of us. He recommended the tasting platter which was fab. Everything on the platter was top quality. I am not a fan of Greek food usually but this was the most delicious food I have eaten. Would say it is a bit... More

Have eaten in this restaurant a number of times and it has always been very good. We enjoyed a lovely meal last Saturday night. The restaurant was extremely busy but the atmosphere was good and the staff were very efficient. The squid starter was cooked perfectly as were the main courses, I had the speciality lamb and my husband had... More

We often eat at the Stolen Lamb as we love the food here. Sadly the service lets the place down, usually when it's busy. It seems there are the same number of staff working whatever day of the week/time if the year it is. Once again we experienced poor service on a Saturday evening, when it seemed like only two... We went here last night to celebrate our engagement with two of our close friends. We booked the table for 9pm and things got off to what seemed to be a good start.. Our jackets were taken and we were shown to the table. There were 4 of us yet the waiter only brought 3 menus and disappeared. No one... More

Very attentive staff. Tasty food, good menu and wine list. Nice evening atmosphere. Cannot fault the experience. Halloumi starter was particularly good.

I took my mum here for dinner and we had the meze 4 course dinner. It was amazing. The wine was equally as good and for what we had it was really good value. Cannot praise the quality of the food enough, lovely atmosphere too. Only slight downside was the service towards the end went a bit slow but overall... More
