Lovely pub in a beautiful village. The pub is welcoming to all as well as having fantastic choice of alcohol. It is a great place to visit if you are walking along the railway line nearby.

Good beer, which is to be expected. The food is standard pub grub, though the ham I had was excellent, really tasty. Good service from the lovely South African barmaid. A wood burner blazing away, which would be even better if it had some comfy chairs around it, though I imagine they would be the best seats in the house.... More

This is the brewery tap for the Dark Star Brewery, which is close by. I could go into raptures about the beer and the food - basic pub fare - is perfectly acceptable.

The Partridge was, once upon a time, called the Railway Hotel and was located a short distance from the long closed railway line and nearby station. It is now the 'brewery Tap' for the excellent Dark Star Brewery, located a few hundred yards down the road. The pub looks very bright from the outside but on entering this establishment it... More

We had a family party one saturday in July. All was fantastic, food was excellent and well presented , cooked by a kitchen team that has a passion for good food the way it should be, a rare thing these days. The FOH staff were friendly and efficient and made the lunch enjoyable. All round a fantastic and lovely day... More

Visited after a long walk. A friendly welcome , great choice of beer..of course being a Dark Star pub. Food menu a cut above normal pub grub, had a ploughmans as had sort of set our heart on that! Was just what it should be and can't wait to return and try some of the more interesting options, particularly the... More

This was the closest place to eat to the bed and breakfast (The Windmill Inn, Littleworth). I loved nothing more than eating the bangers and mash with a local brew after a day spent walking the Downs Link. Portions and quality were just perfect. Great atmosphere both in and out. Always people around. Very nice service. It sported a range... More

A good village pub with friendly professional staff and decent pub food and drink. We've visited several times for lunch and, now that Vicky and her husband are running it, it's a pleasure to visit. It's almost entirely been refurbished inside and out.

Went for meal on sunday. The food was lovely but not what I call pub grub. We ordered a roast pork dinner. Had to search for the vegetables under the meat. This was adult size but my very thin 10 year old ate it all. I had the cajun chicken with cous cous and potato salad which I thought was... More

Visited for lunch. I had beef chilli which was very good and a generous portion. The menu concentrates on traditional pub food and is reasonably priced. The beer is excellent, as would be expected with the Dark Star brewery round the corner. The staff were very cheerful. Will certainly visit again!
