Description: Housed in a 16th Century building in the historic town of Horsham, Restaurant Tristan opened in 2008 and has been a firm favourite with local foodies ever since. Inside, original wooden beams contrast with contemporary style to create an intimate setting for lunch or dinner. Chef and Proprietor Tristan Mason worked in top restaurants like The Greenhouse and Mirabelle before becoming Head Chef at The Hare where he achieved his first Michelin Star. The menu at Restaurant Tristan is predominantly British with some creative French influences, with dishes like terrine of pheasant and turbot with truffle risotto taking centre stage. Ingredients are locally sourced wherever possible and the extensive wine list is designed to complete this truly unforgettable dining experience.

My wife and I and at time our guests have eaten at Restaurant Tristan many times but after reading some disturbing comments about staff not receiving the service charge this time around despite my wife's objections I decided to act and make my own findings. Once again we were enjoying a lovely lunch here our waitron was well engaged so... More

We dined here last night as a celebration and it surpassed our expectations. We both chose the tasting menu with accompanying wine flight and every course was delicious. The different butters (the seaweed one was yummy) were really good with the bread and then our amuse bouche was ricotta with pumpkin velouté and wild rice - simply divine! We then... More

We had been meaning to visit restaurant Tristan for quite some time having lived in Horsham previously. We are also keen to try the top restaurants in the Sussex and Surrey areas. So with a week off we booked for lunch. The place itself has a nice atmosphere with wooden beams and friendly service (although not so on the ball).... More

First time visiting this restaurant this week and it certainly will not be our last. A last minute decision for a lunch and we were not disappointed. Great food and wine was accompanied by great service. The restaurant has a lovely, relaxed ambience and I have already recommended this restaurant to all my friends and family.

I went chez Tristan in May, table for 2, lovely food, everything well executed, scallops, foie gras and lamb were all divine, pudding of basil sorbet, strawberry and olive not to my liking... Service for a fine dining restaurant was efficient and not snooty which I enjoyed. Atmosphere was cool and I thought that the meal was good value for... More

Went to celebrate our wedding anniversary at Tristans which we have in the past. This time decided to splash out on the tasting menu with the suggested wines per course. What a treat, the food was superb, combination of flavours, some of them you would not consider would go well together. Tristan is able to make them work superbly, he... More

We decided to try Tristan as our friends had a wonderful meal there. Unfortunately, it didn't work for us. We opted out for the set menu (£25). My starter was not pleasant (duck egg 64 degree) and I could not eat it, but my husband seemed to like it. I tried a little of his starter (fois gras cherry trifle)... More

Friends have plenty of uses and one of them is for them to introduce you to their favourite restaurant. This always makes me nervous as I usually wish to avoid hurting their feelings if my enthusiasm doesn't match theirs. No such reservations with Restaurant Tristan this is the way restaurants should be - excellent service, first class food and superb... More

One of the best restaurants around, great food and friendly service. Tristan is a Master in the kitchen and Candy runs the service smoothly. We love the food, always a brilliant amuse to get you started and their wonderful bread. We love the things they do with foie gras - so inventive - the best was a foie gras macaron... More
