Description: Housed in a 16th Century building in the historic town of Horsham...
Housed in a 16th Century building in the historic town of Horsham, Restaurant Tristan opened in 2008 and has been a firm favourite with local foodies ever since. Inside, original wooden beams contrast with contemporary style to create an intimate setting for lunch or dinner. Chef and Proprietor Tristan Mason worked in top restaurants like The Greenhouse and Mirabelle before becoming Head Chef at The Hare where he achieved his first Michelin Star. The menu at Restaurant Tristan is predominantly British with some creative French influences, with dishes like terrine of pheasant and turbot with truffle risotto taking centre stage. Ingredients are locally sourced wherever possible and the extensive wine list is designed to complete this truly unforgettable dining experience.

A truly excellent restaurant

We have many eating places in Horsham from all corners of the world but Tristans is in a class of its own in the town. We knew its reputation but this was our first visit and we cannot wait until the next excuse to dine there. The menu was concise with only a few choices for lunch but that was... read more

Often go to this restaurant for lunch and it has never let us down. The food and service is excellent the dishes are beatifully prepared. We have yet to find a restaurant in Sussex that comes close to this one.

Went in Jan on a Saturday night as two couples and had the 4 course winter menu at £45. Just as our first experience there in October of last year for a special birthday, it was amazing. I still talk about the scallops starter now, 3 months later, out of this world. Main also reassuringly good and the soufflé for... More

Just returned from my first visit to Tristans and what an amazing meal. Throughly enjoyed every course. Scallop dish was amazing and probably the highlight, followed closely by a stunning lamb dish. Everyone in our party said how great all their food was as well. Service was great as well with all the servers having great knowledge of each dish... More

This is a "special event" restaurant, and is certainly not cheap, but the value is there nonetheless. The food is PHENOMENAL! You can pick and choose from the various menus, and the courses are small and perfect.

My husband and I treated ourselves to a cheeky lunch sans kids and the we were trudy spoilt :-) The food was exquisite and the service exceptional. This was our third trip to Tristan and each occasion just gets better! Can't wait to find an excuse to return.

A fantastic evening spent at Tristan's on Wednesday night, nothing was too much trouble, the atmosphere was lively, sophisticated and yet comfortable. The food was wonderful, portions and presentation way above average; the wine was delicious the amuse bouche sumptuous. All in all a very much to be repeated evening. We shall be back very very soon

This Michelin Star restaurant in the 'eating area' of Horsham is a really great place to enjoy an excellent meal at reasonable prices. The chef, Tristan, is a talented young man and works very hard to keep the restaurant menu interesting and fresh. We have visited many times, both for lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed.

The food was divine. However (for me) the setting didn't match it. If you like rustic; bare floorboards; and reverberated noisiness, this is a great place to be. I do not at all wish to sound mean - it's just how it was for me, that's all.
