A Most Delicious Dinner

We had dinner in The Camellia restaurant on Saturday night and the food was really excellent. We both started with Scallops and I think they must have been the best ever, beautifully cooked and served. I then had Lamb and my husband had the fillet of Beef, and we finished with a shared Tarte... read more

Lunch for two last Tuesday from the Market Menu. A reasonable choice of three dishes from each course. All dishes were inventive, well cooked and presented. The chosen main, a crispy skinned sea bass with a tangy cassoulet was particularly noteworthy and the banana parfait was also well conceived and delivered. Aperitifs, wines, petit foures and coffees were also first... More

An excellent experience for a special celebration. Lovely food for the tea platters, service that couldn't do enough for us as a party. The patisserie is exceptional. OK this isn't a cheap afternoon tea, but we didn't expect it to be. We feel we received the level of service we expected for a fair price. We were made to feel... More

What a beautiful place. Treated my husband to a special birthday afternoon tea here and what a delight. Service was great. A very grand dining experience. A wide selection of teas and if you don't like your chosen one, they will change it for you without hesitation. A selection of lovely finger sandwiches including egg, smoked salmon, cucumber and chicken.... More

After enjoying a lovely weekend in Sussex, we ended our break by having afternoon tea at the South Lodge Hotel. As I'm gluten sensitive, I requested for the tea to be gluten free. This seemed to pose no problems for the chef at all! The tea was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious; the sandwiches were open and shaped prettily in... More

Lovely setting Attentive, friendly staff, Heidi was particularly helpful Good selection of food: sandwiches tasty and well chosen for my vegetarian option. Huge selection of teas, coffee also available if required. Highly recommend the white Apricot tea - very refreshing. Locally produced sparkling wine available. The hotel is well appointed in a beautiful part of the country with extensive gardens... More

Beautiful surroundings and extra special food served by knowledgeable and friendly staff. A bit expensive but worth it.

Lovely tea and a wonderful setting. Not rushed, unlike another venue I have been to for afternoon tea! Allowed and encouraged to take home cakes not eaten at the tea! Only down side was that there was an event in the grounds and the staff in the car park twice tried to tell us we would be unable to have... More

We visited as a family for my Dad's Birthday treat, having booked online. As it was a lovely day I had hoped to sit outside as I mentioned this when booking, but to be honest the room that you're served afternoon tea in is absolutely beautiful and was nice and cool on a very hot day. We did see others... More

We were dining with friends in the Camellia Restaurant. They were celebrating their wedding anniversary and I had called ahead to arrange a surprise bottle of bubbles to be served before dinner. On arrival we were offered drinks in the bar and i explained that something was arranged trying to keep it secret from our friends. 20 minutes later still... More
