Cooked to order and cooked to perfection. Waitress could have been a bit more attentive to refilling the cooffe cupp rather than cleaning up

Good all round restaurant. Nice menu and friendly helpful staff. Good value for money and would defiantly say that it is one of the better restaurants in the area!

Went to the Grimsdyke yesterday for a family lunch. Was extremely impressed by the service and the quality of food. My brother and family arrived almost an hour late due to traffic and they did not make a fuss. Child friendly with a great ambience, no need to battle into town for a top knotch sunday roast.

I was very happy and thought the service and decor had improved. Although everything seemed washed in brown. Brown furniture and walls. Brown beef and dark duck, purple vegetables. White potato and tablecloth. The two types of bread were great, brown with walnuts and white with onion. I loved my chicken liver parfait starter (brown again). Main course all dark.... More

We have had two Sunday lunches here the first to 'sus' out if it would be suitable for a special lunch. We were very pleased with the menu and enjoyed our meal so went to book for two weeks time for the 80th lunch, only to be told they were fully booked for that Sunday. We were asked to leave... More

We have just had a delightful Gilbert & Sullivan opera supper at Grim's Dyke. Tonight's fare was 'The Gondoliers' - sung by experienced enthusiastic soloists. The chorus needed a bit more rehearsal time (and one particular tenor to turn down the volume) but if you go to one of these occasions, you're not going for the most impressive performance, nor... Had two very nice meals - lunch and dinner on 2 separate special occasions. A pleasant panelled dining room with a lovely garden to stroll in - all part of the Best Western Grimsdyke hotel. Surprisingly decent meals for a 3 -4 star chain hotel. Definitely recommended. Very popular locally. Booking system seems to be chaotic and is rather irritating.

This place promised so much but failed to deliver on every level. We were here for Sunday Lunch and on first impressions it looked like a winner table looked lovely, beautiful setting, smart staff. That was about the sum of the positives, the head waitress was surly and it was to much trouble to alter the seating plan and it... More

My wife and I were entertained at Gilbert's restaurant by some friend's for my birthday. The restaurant is excellent in all respects. Very good traditional food, plenty of choice and excellent service. It is expensive but worth it. There were several "freebies" between courses too.
