Poor service and not much of an apology

I booked for me and my husband to have a meal there on Valentines Day and also booked well in advance. We hadn't been to the pub for ages so we were really looking forward to it. We sat down for our meal and waited, and waited and waited whilst other couple around us got served. I had to go... read more

nice looking posh pub ( been here lots of times)but it took 40 minutes to get a Sunday roast, which we thought would be the simplest main course, along with a beef and ale pie. Asked after 30 mins to hear it was being "plated up". Both meals were average high street pub grub, warm, and easy to forget. I... More

I love the venue but sadly the food often does not live up to the atmosphere. There is plenty of room and a lovely seating area on comfortable seats if you want a drink or snack. The food I feel is over priced for the quality. I do enjoy the atmosphere and each time I return in the hope things... More

I love the Lyttleton for its trendy decor, its modern ambiance and welcoming staff. I have had a couple of hit-and-miss meals in recent months so it was with some trepidation that I went for another evening meal last Sunday. The restaurant was fairly busy and we were asked to wait 20 minutes for a table which we were happy... More

Not the first time we have visited the Lyttleton, been on several occasions in the past and had good meals!!! But have to say how terribly disappointed my family and I were when we went for Sunday lunch for my husband's birthday. We were taken to our table quite promptly once all of us arrived (we were a party of... More

Have been to this restaurant many times and the prices keep going up but the food remains a little above average. Service was reasonably nothing special. Very busy on night of visit. Food was not great

Didnt come to take our order had to tell them twice our party had arrived. Eventually taken to our table and within a very short period... More

Ate here last night for my Birthday celebration as they had e-mailed me with a voucher for a complimentary bottle of champers. The surroundings of this restaurant are nice and comfortable (we asked for comfortable seats and were given them as some of the seats are just plain wood with no pads...ouch!). Food was lovely, had scallops (disappointed only 3... More

Myself and my wife popped in whilst passing one lunchtime, we have been here before with family in the evening but it's a while ago, and remember the food being good, however and this visit we were disappointed, the setting is lovely, but on this occasion let down by the food, I had fish and chips which was tasteless and... This place continues to be a success as it's got it just right. The food is good but nothing special, staff are friendly, wine selection good and reasonable and the decor lovely. It's always busy and has a lovely outside area and lots of parking . Always busy and good atmosphere!
