Went here to catch up with some old friends and have an evening meal. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. I had sirloin steak cooked to perfection, with salad & home cooked chips, followed by lemon cheesecake; £9.95 deal. All of the food was very good and I have no hesitation in recommending or going back. The drinks... More

This was my first trip to the bay horse, what can I say, I asked for my stake cooked rare, and guess what I actually got a rare steak which is in fact rare these days, as for the dessert well it was fabulous. The hospitality was amazing and I had a really great evening. Thanks Bay Horse I will... More

This is a fantastic country pub with a log burner giving that country pub feel. You are welcomed as soon as you walk In and the staff are pleasant and polite. The food is gorgeous and not shy of portions. The food is all freshly prepared and cooked (not like some where you can here the ping go and when... More

Called in for Sunday lunch with my parents. A warm welcome upon entering and seated quickly. The staff were very attentive and the food arrived quickly, all well cooked and not over seasoned (I usually find pubs use excessive amounts of salt, at least for my taste). A place I will certainly visit again and very reasonably priced! And for... More

After hearing that the pub is now under new management, me and my husband thought we would give it another try. The pub had been refurbished and looked fantastic! With a lovely log fire. Were greeted by the staff and seated straight away, the menu was reasonably priced and plenty to choose from with the added choice the specials board.... More

We have been cruising around the north east on our boat and thought we would round the trip off with a visit to this highly recommended pub. We were really looking forward to some excellent food but have to say we were completely disappointed. My wife ordered Parmesan Breaded Pork with Bechamel Sauce. Sounded OK on the menu. Unfortunately what... More

My husband and I ate here on a Saturday night and we really enjoyed our meal here. I had the lasagne and my husband had the burger. Lasagne was good accompanied by a lovely salad. Service was faultless, my only criticism would be that the pub is desperate for a refurbishment. How lovely it would be to be served lovely... More

We popped out for a drive and to find somewhere different to eat Sunday lunch. We found this place via Trip Advisor and thought we'd give give it a go. When we got there we almost drove past, the building didn't portray what we believed it would from the reviews, equally when we went inside the interior was also a... More

I am surprised the previous reviewer had a bad evening at the Bay Horse as my partner and I (both in our 60s) are regular visitors there and have never experienced any bad language over the last 2 years. It is a pub which caters for both diners and social drinkers and in no way resembles a working man's club.... More
