Have now been twice since the new chef was appointed. Food is delicious and beautifully presented. Excellent value. Had black pudding with crispy duck egg to start, duck for main which was superb. Staff very attentive. Would highly recommend.

Following recommendations from friends my wife & I ventured into Goole to try out the restaurant. The decor is nice & the layout spacious with only 1 other diner when we walked in. Staff were very attentive & pleasant, taking time to make sure we were well cared for. We became aware there was a function on elsewhere in the... More

Thought I would treat the wife to afternoon tea, what a disappointment ,big truckers type sandwiches, thick slabs of cake. Completely missing the fineness of what an afternoon tea should be. Will not be returning.

Was super quiet, and popped in having only heard of it. Went with husband and daughter. Brilliant service from waitress/front of house. And very accommodating of our one year old making her something off the menu. My husband and I both had hit meat sandwiches. Make sure you are hungry as they are ENORMOUS! The meat was so tender though... More

I attended a works Christmas party the other week and was really disappointed! We had paid £20 for 3 courses. The garlic mushroom starter was lovely however the bread they were sat on was so hard it would've broken a tooth had I eaten it. The turkey dinner was more than disappointing, chewy turkey, and the stuffing was over seasoned... More

Last time to eat here! I dined here tonight with a friend. She had butterfly chicken served on a wooden board, the chicken had black bits on it we presumed was from the griddle. The whole tomato was covered in salt! The portion of home made chips was covered in salt The limited menu had a choice of four pies... More

We had a family gathering in a function room in the Lowther Hotel following several recommendations. Our memories of the Lowther Hotel were from over 25 years ago so we were amazed by the transformation that had taken place. The function room was light and airy with the historic murals giving a talking point for the gathered family. Although the... More

Stayed at this Hotel for an Army reunion last weekend and after paying my bill at the price quoted to me from the Hotel itself and a friend who booked it, It turns out there was a discrepancy and was totally Embarrassed and shocked when a member of staff came into the bar where we were having tea wagged her... Been staying in the Lowther whilst on business and never ate in the restaurant apart from breakfast. Surprised at how good the food was for a reasonable price also. No complaints, friendly staff and attentive. One thing on the breakfasts though..... They need to change sausages.... it's the only fault with breakfast
