I have enjoyed some good meals in this river side pub. Difficult to find if you do not know the area. Not a large pub, but the food is good class.

Fantastic service, friendly atmosphere, great food (plenty of it) and great prices too! Easy access on a bike from neighbouring villages. Places to eat outside if you prefer and superb views over the river. If planning on eating in the evening Id advise you book in advance because of its popularity.

This is a well concealed Pub with a great local food reputation on the banks of the River Ouse in the hamlet of Blacktoft, near Goole Yorks. http://hopeandanchorblacktoft.co.uk/ We called for a sunday lunch, but meals are available every day. It was very busy, every table was full, and lots of food coming out of the kitchen at regular intervals.... More

Had a meal here as part of a party booked for a lunchtime for a post graduation ceremony celebration meal. The party was held up by late running of the ceremony, traffic and bad weather causing us to arrive after lunchtime meal service had finished, No problem for this destination. With smiles and excellent service they delivered up our chosen... More

This is not a posh pub/restaurant serving daft food at silly prices! It is a fabulous place for excellent home cooked meals in a unique setting overlooking the River Ouse. Very friendly staff and the landlord is a top host serving great beers. No, I am not related! Just really, really enjoy eating there.

Being invited by daughter on her birthday to the Hope and Anchor at BLACKTOFT for a evening meal on Sunday 10th November 2013 to arrive at 7.00 pm, I did my home work on tripadvisor to check directions and the menu. The directions were very clear and the menu was commendable, i even selected my main meal, a large haddock,... More

We have had 3 recent meals at Hope and Anchor and cannot fault the food quality, service or surroundings. You must book in advance to have any chance of getting a table especially on the weekends but you will be rewarded with great home-cooked pub food in plentiful portions. The staff here do deliver above average pub fare at reasonable... More
