Back to European Food at its best.

Great little place in an Alley in the quaint town of Occoquan. Known for it Belgian Beers, the food is even better. Recently tried their Sunday Brunch, it was worth the wait for a table. The food and atmosphere takes me back to the small Bistros of rural France, Belgium and Luxembourg. Give... read more

Cock and Bowl has excellent food. What a treat for being so close to home. Their range of imported beer is amazing. The servers were polite and most helpful. Most enjoyable evening.

Great place to go with friends for some good food and drink (especially the beer). Outdoor patio is especially inviting.

A longtime Occoquan favorite, the signature mussels (several preparation options) and frites never disappoint. There are wonderful entrees and specials offered--the short ribs and skate were sublime. Charming and very European inside but we also love visiting the delightful patio and the selection of beers is incredible. Owners and staff are very friendly and accommodating.

I once raved about this place and the quality of the food. That day is long passed.. I keep wanting it to be great again.. but another failure this week. I have since given up on all meals but the Sunday Brunch here.. and that day may be done as well. 2 of the 6 in our party ordered a... More

Visited restaurant as part of our mini vacation in the DC area. Quaint town, love the shops. Had dinner at the Cock and Bowl. Excellent meal at this rather small eatery. Food is incredible from appetizer to desert. Would definitely return. Only complaint is there is charge of $3.00 for additional bread. Kind of chintzy.

I am very glad to report yet another wonderful restaurant. We came here to try something different and were not disappointed. We had Shrimp croquettes for appetizer and loved them. She had Crevettes bucolique which is sautéed shrimp and grits and couldn't stop at her normal half plate due to being so good. I had the haddock and grits complete with... More

We had lunch with friends and were seated in the patio which was pleasant. Two of us chose to try their Pâté à la maison. It didn`t have the taste of the terrine that we`re used to eating in Europe so we supposed that it was `made for the American palate. Which was deceiving. The frites were too oily and... More

We were visiting this charming little town and had been suggested to try this spot for lunch. They don't accept reservations and even though a tiny place, the menu is quite varied. If you are a fan of mussels, go no further, or possible drive out of your way to eat here. Enough to share of eat yourself if hungry.... More

The inside is tiny but they have a good amount of patio space. They specialize in mussels and have these fantastic cooking/serving pots for them. These containers keep them warm a long long time. There are lots of different flavors to choose from and people that don't like mussels... actually like the ones made here. They really do them right.... More
