We visited The Monkey Puzzle for Sunday lunch. Upon entering the restaurant there was no one there to welcome and show us to a table which meant we were hanging around for ten minutes to be seated. There were two guys on the bar but they didn't seem to be interested unless we wanted to buy a drink - not... More

Sorry to add to previous customers comment, but the excellent food last afternoon was spoiled by being served warm rather than hot (with the exception of the chip which were served at the right temperature, and by staff standing around paying little attention to customers waiting. Never before in a restaurant of this nature (Harvester, Brewers Fare, Beefeater etc) have... More

We arrived here as a group of 7 (4 adults 3 kids). We stood and waited to be seated as the sign said. For 5 minutes we were looked at by staff but no-one approached. We decided to seat ourselves instead being my elderly grandmother was with us. One of the party accosted a member of staff and was finally... More

We visited twice whilst staying at the Premier Inn next door. Under staffed, uncleared tables, no clean plates for toast and we waited ages for our cooked breakfast. It isn't a buffet but made to order and it took the waiting staff around 20 minutes after we sat down to take our order. The food was good when it arrived.... More

We had sunday lunch here.. I chose the lamb and I have to say the meat was good but there is a serious lack of vegetables with the meal.. I would expect at least 2 veg to accompany a Sunday lunch but there were just a few green leaves which were very dry and not at all tasty. One of... More

This is the first time I've eaten in a Beefeater, compelled to come after the prices of the Chessington hotels being quite high. I was very impressed with the range of food and the Early Saver Menu before 6.30pm - so much so we ate here two evenings in a row. The staff are very accommodating and lovely towards my... More

I and my family went to the Monkey Puzzle after having a day at Chessington, thinking it was just going to be a standard steak joint. I must be honest and say it was very good which surprised us all somewhat. The starters were very hot and tasty and the steaks for our mains hit the mark perfectly (the ribs... More

I regularly visit the Monkey Puzzle, on this occasion I took my daughter and 2 children aged 7yrs & 4yrs old. Good menu selection for children, children provided with crayons and colouring sheet to keep them occupied. The only problem was that with two young children it would be good not to be kept waiting for as long as we... More
