Description: We offer authentic, quality Indian Cuisine in Blackburn, Lancashire...
We offer authentic, quality Indian Cuisine in Blackburn, Lancashire. Established in 1992 we have an unrivaled reputation for both quality and customer care. Whether you're looking for a venue for your next special occasion or quality Indian food - you'll always find a fast, friendly service waiting for you.Set in the picturesque Ribble Valley the Shajan is an award-winning restaurant. It started off as a small business holding only 96 customers. However its popularity lead to its gradual expansion over the years and it is now able to accommodate up to 205 customers. The restaurant itself is split into 3 rooms enabling it to cater for private parties and large functions without losing its intimacy or atmosphere. Its modern decor, luxurious setting and spacious car park have attracted a wide range of customers including celebrities, some of which arrive in helicopters. The chefs' come from all over South Asia, so the restaurant is able to offer a varied cuisine, and the large number of regular South Asian customers is a testament to the foods authenticity. We believe the restaurant's reputation is our best accolade as it is built purely on word of mouth. The Shajan's emphasis on quality, customer service and above all its continual drive for improvement, have all lead to its success.

Consistently good, attentive staff.

We're regular diners at the shazan. The food is good quality, and prices sensible despite its popularity. The owner is an excellent host and knows how to make people feel special by taking the time to come over and chat. The only issue I have is the size of the portions of rice. I always have... read more

This place was bursting with people and a buzzing atmosphere. Half expected poor quality food with it being so busy. However, we enjoyed excellent food. All tasted fantastic and was enjoyed very much by our party of 6. Will return again some time, I hope!

Six people and a 3 year old granddaughter visited the shaman on Friday evening to celebrate my 60 the birthday.None of us over weight, and as this was not our first visit and knowing the size of portions, we decided to order one main between two. This was not questioned when we placed our order, however after a few minutes we were... More

We visited shajan last night to celebrate my Father's 60th birthday. There were 6 adults and a 3 year old child. We had to tell 3 different people upon arrival that we had a table booked. Then we all ordered poppadoms followed by a curry between 2. The waitress was happy to take this order. The "manager" then appeared and... More

Sadly this was my families favourite Resturant a few years ago, so much so that I flew in from Bangkok for my mums 70th birthday at the Shajan. Sadly in the last 2 years everything has changed. I understand they was very busy, but it took 50 minutes to get our starter which was cold and tasted a bit funky.... More

The restaurant is very big and open. Nicely fitted out with a good bar and large selection of draft beers. The menu is extensive without being overwhelming, and the quality of the food was excellent for the party of 5 I was with. The prices were reasonable, the service was first class. This was an excellent Indian dining experience for... More

Visited on a Tuesday evening with 17 family & friends to celebrate our Son in laws 40th birthday, we were amazed at how busy the place was for a week night. Some of the group had been before but we had not & were very impressed with the layout & décor, the bar area is very relaxing. After taking us... More

Whenever I go the place is always busy and I've never been turned away because I hadn't booked. The owner is a master of making you feel welcome and will always find a table whilst you have a drink in the spacious bar area. The downside of being so busy is that it feels as if the meals are slightly... More
