We had been meaning to visit Shajan for years and finally took the plunge last week. The food was excellent, the service was cheerfull and attentive while the price was very reasonable. What more could you ask for?

I went here for the first time on a busy Saturday night. What can I say about the whole experience. The reception area was extremely busy with people waiting for take aways. People wanting to pay etc. Give credit to the guy behind the counter in the shirt and tie. He seemed to be spinning alot of plates..but had it... More

Phoned for a takeaway on a Saturday night.was greeted with "wait 5 minutes"....cue much hanging about....when they were eventually good enough to take my order they got it wrong and over and overcharged me to boot. I waited an extra 20 minutes at the restaurant with no apology. The guy on the main desk comes across as a total cretin... More

A few points: Negative: 1. The tiniest portion of pilau rice I have ever been served at a restaurant, ridiculous in relation to the cost. 2. We were sat next to the entrance to the then-empty extension when a waiter waltz past with a can of glade and sprayed it constantly for over a minute in to the extension, all... More

Went here after dad and his finance declared it the best Indian they'd ever had. And, in so far as the food was concerned, they weren't wrong. The poppadoms were average, but the starter and main were excellent. I think its only downfall is its success -- there were too many people and the staff couldn't seem to handle it.... More

Having been to the Shajan several times, I can attest to consistency throughout; Good quality food, never slicked in oil and greasy. Dishes can be counted on to arrive to the same standard, with the same presentation, every time. Quantities are generous, the meat (whether lamb or chicken) is soft and tender - not chewy or stringy. Service is slick,... More

If you haven't been then try it - the food and service is always excellent. Their Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi is one of the best curry's I've ever had. It gets very busy at weekend so avoid the push by going early and have a few drinks in the nice bar area and order later.

This is one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to, took my Family there for my daughters excellent exam results, a round trip of almost 200 miles, yes the food is really that good. The service excellent, the staff very helpful. Would recommend without a doubt. It may not be cheap, but good food is worth paying for.

Worst curry in a long long time. We booked for 8pm and arrived at 7 to have drinks in the bar. We had staff come over to us about 5 times to take our order although we told them we are not going to our table until 8pm. Ordered kingfisher beer which was flat and warm. Went to our table... More

The Shajan is our go to Indian restaurant whenever we get the craving. A well oiled machine which never lets us down we have been customers for over ten years. The food and service cannot be faulted and on top of that unbelievable value. We had popadoms, starters, mains, desert and two bottles of NZ sauvignon blanc for less than £85. Although all... More
