I recently visited the Black Bull with my wife. Having been there previously to eat, our latest visit showed that the high standards for food were still being maintained. The menu is extensive and costs are good with most main courses under £10. On the night we visited, Tuesday, it was quiet and therefore food came quickly, but even on... More

We have visited the Black Bull on a number of occasions now both as a family and as a couple. The food is excellent, portions generous although not over the top. Its a great little find, good prices and good food we love it. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

We took our two grandchildren for an early dinner. Whilst not a gastronomic haven, the Black Bull is excellent for its market of families, with a first class menu with a good choice for children and adults alike, at appropriate prices. In good grandchildren style, my youngest made an expansive gesture showering me with a full glass of excellent rose... More

As we live near here we often go into this pub for a meal. We have not been disappointed at any time with either food or service. 5 cask beers which change frequently and the landlord keeps a very good cellar. When you go to a place often you can take it for granted so I thought it about time... More

Dined at the Black Bull with family one evening. The pub appeared popular and a nice touch was table service as opposed to ordering at the bar. The menu was great with plenty of options. I chose a salmon fillets and salad and the fish was cooked very well. The salad was not very good and they could do better... More

Been here a few times now usually on a Sunday night. An old fashioned country pub with a menu to suit every taste and pocket. The chef has started doing specials I can really recommend the lamb kebab and the pulled pork sandwich. Whatever you have though you won't be disappointed. If there were any draw backs it would be... Great pub - a hidden gem really - with great food but its a real shame about the staff (one in particular). Grumpy when the order was taken, things did not improve. I knew what food was ordered and that the food which arrived did not match the order. The employee told me I was wrong and argued with me... More

This was our first visit to The Black Bull Inn and we certainly were not disappointed. The place is off the beaten track but very easy to find. As soon as we entered, we received a very warm welcome and given the choice of going straight to our table in the restaurant or having a drink in the bar first.... More

We have visited here with our young children and have been impressed with the selection of games/ books for the children to play with while they wait. The food is really good, big portions and very tasty. Will definitely visit again.
