Just returned home from a lunch time visit with a friend. Thought we would take advantage of the three course menu for £11.95 but as the portions were very generous we could only manage two courses for £9.95. My friend had the liver pate followed by the cheese and potato pie while I had fish cakes followed by the steak... More

Myself & my wife decided to visit the black bull again having been a few months ago and were not disapointed as the food & welcome was wonderful once again. A new menu had recently been introduced & we both had a main meal which was wonderful & very filling so unfortunately we declined to take up the offer of... More

Have eaten at the blackbull for the last 2 years and the service and food have been first class and good value for money. But the menu has now changed the cheese and onion pie is now cheese and potato and tasteless and nearly £2 dearer . All the popular dishes have now gone no chilli. And sandwiches are all... More

I viewed the website before visiting here on a Sunday evening. The website states that they serve food 'all day everyday till 9PM!' We drove half an hour to get to it. As soon as we got there, it looked quiet so I asked the waitress if they were serving food, she said no. So I informed her it says... More

We have eaten here several times and always opt for the flavoursome steak & ale pie. We went today & the menu had changed, so had the quality of food...., with an extra £1 price tag on our popular dish. As we were paying at the bar a couple next to us were pYing and asked how their food was... More

I recently visited the Black Bull with my wife. Having been there previously to eat, our latest visit showed that the high standards for food were still being maintained. The menu is extensive and costs are good with most main courses under £10. On the night we visited, Tuesday, it was quiet and therefore food came quickly, but even on... More

We have visited the Black Bull on a number of occasions now both as a family and as a couple. The food is excellent, portions generous although not over the top. Its a great little find, good prices and good food we love it. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

We took our two grandchildren for an early dinner. Whilst not a gastronomic haven, the Black Bull is excellent for its market of families, with a first class menu with a good choice for children and adults alike, at appropriate prices. In good grandchildren style, my youngest made an expansive gesture showering me with a full glass of excellent rose... More

As we live near here we often go into this pub for a meal. We have not been disappointed at any time with either food or service. 5 cask beers which change frequently and the landlord keeps a very good cellar. When you go to a place often you can take it for granted so I thought it about time... More
