Visited the Black Bull on Mothering Sunday for a family meal, 15 of us in total including 2 young children. We chose from the 3 course set menu which had a varied choice to suit all, and a complimentary cocktail from the cocktail menu for the 3 mothers dining which was a lovely gesture.. The restaurant and bar area was... More

seems a good honest pub with better than average food. Would highly reccomend the early bird meal only 11pounds a person for a three course meal which is extremely good value. The surroundings are pleasant and the staff are very welcoming. Will definitely be visiting again.

Taking advantage of the Early Bird menu my partner & I had the 3 course meal for £11 per person. You certainly get your value for money - the plate of cheese & onion pie, chips and beans was enormous - but there's definitely more quantity than quality! Staff very friendly and accommodating. And the desserts were delicious (we discovered... More

I eat here off the early bird one Monday evening, the decor is a little shabby but don't be put off. there was plenty if choice on the menu and you could have two or three courses I think two were 8.95 and three £10.95 food wasn't all home made but not as cheaply made as a brewars fayre. It... More

Excellent customer service from the staff and very nice food came 15 minutes after ordering. Massive servings. Would have given it 5 stars but cant abide places like this that use oven chips. Toilets spotless

We arrived just as the Black Bull suffered a power cut. Rather than turn customers away all credit to the staff they coped with a reduced menu. Very surprised at the negative feedback because that is not what we have found We have tried both lunch time and early evening meals and found the reception, service and food quality first... More

We visited on a quiet mid week lunchtime and were the only customers on arrival. There was a good selection of draft beers including peroni, cocker hoop and marstons pedigree. We went for the cocker hoop which was excellent. The menu was extensive with something for everyone. I went for the club sandwich which was superb. Hot and fresh with... More

We took advantage of the two course lunch. Food was Delicious. Good choice on the menus. I had the mushrooms to start while my husband had the prawn cocktail. We both had the hunters chicken for main which was lovely. Generous potions, hot food and friendly staff. The black bull won us over. We would visit here again!

This is a little gem. The food is freshly cooked and is delicious. Staff attentive and very polite. Prices are surprisingly reasonable given the size of the portions. Wonderful desserts . Will be going again.

I took my two daughters for a meal here last Sunday. We arrived around 5pm and were surprised how quiet it was. All went well until we were asked if we would like the dessert menu which we did and said menu arrived, however, unfortunately the waitress didn't bother to come back for the order. Having waited around twenty minutes... More
