Great british breakfast at a very decent price (lower than a fiver) - good tasting bacon, rather ordinary sausages (that seems to be the norm and so I mostly gloss over the fact that it irritates me, the cooking was good so that lifted the ordinary slightly). Freshly cooked egg, beans and mushrooms lift the meal. Waitress service, that's pleasant... More

Good choice of soups...would prefer them to be a bit thicker but you do get a huge bowl. The service is delivered with a smile which is a must. Good central location too.

Cosy cafe with 60s sound track. Enjoyed a decaf coffee, hot chocolate and ice cream. Handy the huge guitar shop around the corner.

We each had the special roast of the day, me with chips and my wife with a selection of potatoes. There was masses of veg... More

Like many places, Hartley's sometimes give the impression that quantity means more than quality. The burgers are excellent but I think they part cook them and then murder them in the micro-wave. The home made stuff is great.
