Best of the bunch!

Had an excellent meal. We have now eaten at four of the restaurants in this chain. This meal was however the best. The menu is standard across all the restaurants except Barley Mow which is more pub food, however the execution of the dishes served here is better than the other restaurants . Would... read more

Visited this restaurant on Mothers Day with my mother and my son. My son has a learning disability and can not always deal with noise and busy environments. I was apprehensive before going because of this but I needn't have worried. I asked for a nice table in the corner and, although it was very busy, they were able to... More

I took my mother here for mothers day after the Oyster and Otter was recommended by friends to me. What a disappointment! 1) I have never ever in my life seen toilets as disgusting at a establishment with so many staff working. Faecal matter was smeared across toilet seats and the bins were over flowing. Its safe to say I... More

I ordered the Prawn and Monkfish special priced at £18:50 and was severely disappointed with 4 small prawns and 2 small pieces of monkfish, it would have been poor value at even half the price. That's a pity because my wife's fish pie choice was first class.

Table for 5 on Mother's Day lunchtime. Roast beef was gristly and the portion was too small. Daughter had fish cake as a main course and with a rueful smile it was finished in seconds. We've had better meals and certainly better service at the Oyster & Otter under the previous manager. We will be trying elsewhere next time.

been here twice now and was excellent both times. Friendly informative staff and superb food. Our friends are used to good food and were extremely impressed. I booked on an automated call system and was a little dubious but all was well

First of all, the food was very nice and their were no problems with that. The service was very good when we arrived and we were shown to our table and we were left alone while we decided what drinks we wanted and when we ordered our drinks we ordered our starters and main courses as well. The drinks came... More

Food excellent but service needs to be addressed! Chatting and checking your phones .... and ignoring customers is not acceptable .. take you out of Blackburn into a city ....

Ate here with friends to celebrate graduation. Food was very good albeit as others have commented the portions were pretty small. Where this place really falls down is the price of the drinks which are extortionate. Two glasses of prosecco £13.30! Dearer than my main meal! I'm sorry but this is a rip off and spoilt the evening. Won't be... More

Thankyou for taking the time to leave a review we're glad to hear you enjoyed your meal! In terms of the drinks being on the expensive side, we only use the best quality products to go along side the meals we serve and unfortunately some of these carry a higher price. We hope you 'll visit the Oyster again. Kind... More
