We called in for easy Friday dinner, nice selection of local beers. A very good menu selection and very helpful staff. The home made cheese pie was a great choice for vegi in the group. The lamb burger was cooked well and served and presented well. All food was cooked well and had great taste. A nice ambiance was evident... More

This was once one of the better eating establishments in the area but it appears to have been taken over and the standard of food has declined. The place is normally buzzing but was very quiet on our last visit. The cook is very loud and shouts across the restaurant when something is ready. I can't say I'll be returning... More

Shame I cant make this a minus 10!!! I have just been for lunch here and was not pleased with my meal at all. The batter the fish was cooked in was VERY thick and the flour was uncooked and mushy inside. Also the mushy peas were burnt in-fact there was more black in the peas than green. I very... More

3 of us visited on sunday. Two had steaks which were cooked to perfection. the sunday dinner was amazing. The service was first class. Marios the manager seated us and took our orders. Did not have to wait long untill the starters arrived. Overall great value for money. All three of us enjoyed everything on our plates. thanks to all... More

Straters great, staff really nice maybe except slightly sour faced manager , menu I think well put together, but... Ordered steaks one rear skinny, one medium with everything. Skinny arrived with imitation of the salad but cooked well, medium one arrived rare and both not rested properly bleeding on the plate. For the price I would definitelly expect more finesse.

Hello thanks for going out your way to leave feedback. We feel the menu has both good value and also excellent quality but slight tweaks were needed. We have recently reviewed the menu's and injected more value amongst it & also extended the Early Bird to Friday 5-6.30pm and also Saturday lunch 12-3pm. We do appreciate feedback and from time... I have eaten here around 6 or 7 times recently whilst in the area on business. Whilst the food is very good and I enjoyed the meals it is overpriced. Another thing to consider is that should you have any fussy eaters with you then you many struggle to find a 'pub classic' on the menu.

Hello and thanks for your feedback. Our Classic selection we feel is priced with a good emphasis on value, in fact we are probably £1 or more competitive than surrounding competition and are looking to expand the selection and also the Early Bird Offer, so comments taken on board. The A La Carte section has been raised with all dishes... More

I went to the taster menu evening and the food was pretty good, although cold. But I noticed then that the prices were going to be hiked and that a lot of the traditional options were removed and replaced with fancier stuff. Returned a week later with my husband who had just come back from a week away and wanted... More

I was invited to sample the new menu at the Feildens last Wednesday and can certainly say I was impressed. Each course delivered both on taste and presentation with a particular highlight being the herb crusted lamb rump. Looking forward to our next visit!!

Went to the taster night for the new menu. The food was fantastic. Fine dining. Scallop starter was cooked to perfection. I also got to taste the ham hock starter. This is something i would not normally order but i will be having this on my next visit. It was served with homemade piccalilli and it was so tasty. My... More
