We were a party of 4 eating mid-week in the evening. The food was excellent; squid with chilli starter was especially tender and tasty. The fish pie and chicken stuffed with black pudding were also particularly good. Vegetables are included only as side orders; I would advise ordering some as our mains were all hearty and substantial and could have... More

This met our expectations of good quality local produce, nicely presented and good value for money. The surroundings are comfortable and the restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere which is complemented by friendly staff.

We didn't eat here because it is owned by a celebrity chef, we fancied a home made Scotch egg! The restaurant's premise of home made and locally sourced is commendable and was also of interest to us. We've eaten here twice now and if they can keep up the standards we experienced I reckon other eateries could learn a lot... More

Included in a family birthday celebration and not having visited for a while we were looking forward to a great evening. Sadly even though the young staff are friendly they are hesitant to approach the guests with menu's, to enquire re drinks from the table....we went to the bar ourselves...and to ask if everything is alright. 8 people dined but... Been to The Clog and Billycock many times but this is the first time we've been for Sunday lunch, it was fabulous, the beef was cooked to perfection, my daughter who had the pork said hers was fabulous too, the accompaniments were just right, all our starters were delicious, a very good experience except for the cappuccinos we ordered didn't... I ate here with two colleagues on a Monday night. I've eaten here before but that was almost two years ago and I'd been told that the place had been refurbished so I thought it time to revisit. The bar and restaurant are really nicely decorated and laid out so that each table has plenty of room. The guy behind... More

My wife and I decided to give this restaurant a visit for an early evening meal and although we have been before, it was some time ago. Our arrival time was about 5.30, so there were not many people in as they only serve evening dinner from that time. A pleasant waitress took us to a nice table, near the... More

Atmosphere good but not great, food good but not great, after the reviews we expected more however despite the fact we liked it, we didn't love it, and will not be making the trip again as its very far out the way and 30 mins away for us, good if youre 5 mins down the road but its not as... More

Good food, nice decor and friendly / efficient staff. For me an even bigger plus was that we could have our two dogs with us. I think thats only in a bar area, but this was by no means second class.

We were visiting relatives in Haslingden and asked them to choose a local restaurant, so we could treat them to dinner. Our family had visited Nigel Howarth gastro pubs on previous occasions, we settled for The Clog and Billycock, because of the name! Pine floors and tables, warm and welcoming. Mounted shoe-lasts as light fittings. The general decor a nod... More
