Just had a very nice refit. Great Staff good value and free entertainment, what more can be asked of a great local pub. Used as a local on a regular basis.

I hate entering this place as everyone turns and looks!! Makes you feel like an alien!! We were booked in for a staff party of around 15, they reserved our tables and everything was ok, but that's about it ok, food was nothing special but it was £7 for a burger and fries, the burger bun has horrible! Covered in... More

I've been several times here for a midweek lunch after going to Newlife. The special deal on the menu (not sure if it is on at weekends) is excellent-a starter plus a choice of light bite meals for £4.50 plus a drink for £1-a bargain by anyone's standards! In my experience, the manager is very nice and goes out of... More

I went here for a friends birthday so he could have his first legal drink! When booking a table they wouldn't allow us. One waiter kept walking down and looking useless, the food took ages to come and we were the only ones with food orders, ours drinks were flat and they couldn't seem to care less, the food itself... I've visited this Marstons Pub twice in the last week and both times the service was excellent. The food was up to a good standard and value for money. The seating area was comfortable and the only criticism I would have is that it wasn't very warm in the Lounge, particularly by the window. There are T.V.'s dotted around with... More

After reading previous reviews of this pub I was a bit apprehensive in going in. But although the bar area was a bit noisy (this was a Saturday dinnrtime) the lounge area was fine with a mix of people. The food is standard Martsons fayre which means nothing fancy but palatable and it won't break the bank. I will say... More

You will walk in and be stared at by local people and the bar staff. For the location, the beer is over priced. The smoking area is pretty good if it is empty, otherwise it is full of people swearing, spitting and being quite sexist. There are quite a lot of children running around. Overall, if you are from the... More
