Really recommend the Eight Bells for a meal. Excellent food, good service too. Having lived on the Island all my life, the Eight Bells was very popular way back, but then lost its touch. It's great to see that it's back to its former glory. By the way, the Manager is not grumpy , it's just the way he is!... More

Went to the Eight Bells for a Sunday lunch but both myself and my partner were tempted by the specials board. I had the seafood linguine and my partner chose the trout. Both of us recommend the specials as they were tasty dishes and good value for money coupled with good service on a busy Sunday

Didn't book but proprietor made us welcome and sorted seating for 7, we all had different meal selections which we all enjoyed and the staff were friendly with prompt service.

We used this pub the last time we were on the island, but it was so like lots and lots of pubs. We did think we would give it another go, but we had found the Sportsman by that time.

We went to this place todayy husband had bangers and mash, sausages were overcooked and reheated. Mash potato wad reheated or smash ( not real potato)powdery texture. Kids macaroni cheese was so hot and powdery. This is my option but mine was OK bbq ribs. Play area at the rear of the establishment had a ford with a VERY small... More

Great place to take the kids for a meal. A lovely play area outside with outside seating overlooking a duck pond. The staff are friendly, the food is above average for pub fare and they have a nice inexpensive kids menu. You must save room for a sweet their sundaes are amazing.

We had an excellent lunch here last Saturday 04/10/2014. The service was polite & friendly, & the food was very well presented. We had a fantastic meal & would recommend without hesitation. One point to note is that they do not have a credit card machine so cards can only be accepted via telephone authorisation.

Would give the food 2/5, but as the staff were lovely, this place earns an extra point. We chose this pub because of the reviews on here and expected a tasty lunch at a reasonable price. Can't say the food was terrible; it was just OK. Also the place lacked character & as its in such a delightful location we... More
