Good food, problem with drinks.

We decided on the Eight Bells for a birthday celebration, having not been for a few years. The place has been refurbished, which is nice although I did miss how it used to be. We all ordered our meals and drinks, but I ended up taking back our pints of coke very quickly. It was very weak, and the... read more

My family and I including 3 young children had lunch at the Eight Bells, The food was VERY good with ample portions, they have an extensive menu for adults & children. We have been going here, when on the Isle of Wight, for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. Would I go here again - Most certainly

We ate there both Friday & Saturday of our stay and the portions were massive, but wasteful because neither of us could finish them. And small details like the core left in the... More

The food was OK and sitting in the garden was pleasant and sunny. The service was swift but with little interaction with us the paying customer which was a shame. I felt we were an inconvenience.

What to do on a hot summers day??.... Not eat here, that's what! The scenery and staff were quite pleasant but that didn't make up for the fact that I had spent almost £30 for nothing short of the two worst ready meals of my life! Sainsbury's basics microwave horse meat seemed to spring to mind as I tucked into... More

I've been to the 8 Bells plenty of times over the years, and have found it pretty hit and miss. In its current form, I have to say that I am impressed. From the large car park, to the very clean toilets, standards have obviously improved over the years. The beer garden is a main attraction for families with young... More

We visited the pub for an evening meal as a family, chosen as it was fairly local and had a nice play area for children. As we entered we noticed that the inside had received a much needed refurbishment, so we were looking forward to our meal. Unfortunately, when we went to the bar to order things started to go...
