We visited the pub for an evening meal as a family, chosen as it was fairly local and had a nice play area for children. As we entered we noticed that the inside had received a much needed refurbishment, so we were looking forward to our meal. Unfortunately, when we went to the bar to order things started to go... We all enjoyed a relaxing play ( and drink) in this well stocked, clean and welcoming pub garden. The prices were reasonable and the food menu looked good- we will be back to try it!

Loved it there, friendly staff, clean, food was lovely and only a 10 minute walk from our hotel. Nothing was too much trouble. We didn't need to book a table and felt like one of the locals by the end of the week

Family meal out at the local hostelry. Not been for a while and unlikely to go again (for a while). Apart from the fact the atmosphere has gone from previous, now a school canteen ambiance. Food was ok and just ok. Gammon seriously under cooked and tough. When you have Scampi you expect to have Tartar with it. We had... More

We were recommended this spot by the staff at the Carisbrooke Castle, it's just a few minute walks away. Decent pub with good food and quick service. A big portion of chicken fahitas, chips and salad was about 6 pounds.

We went to the Eight Bells for lunch with two disabled people, access is ok and a member of staff did assist us open doors after seeing us struggle. The food was fine good sized portions and hot and well presented. Price was reasonable and the place having been modernised is a reasonable environment . Family orientated so being half... More
