Nice Cafe, Warm Interior

Before going to the nearby Jewish Cemetery, we needed a warm cup of coffee. Service was nice, the coffee was good and we liked the ambience of this Dutch cafe.

When staying in the Amsterdam region, a steak dinner at Loetje is almost an obligation! Served in a traditionally Dutch way (with loads of gravy and bread to dip in the gravy) it doesn't get much better than sitting on the waterfront, drinking a glass of Merlot and enjoying a beautiful dinner in the sun!

Busy local restaurant in a fine picturesque location close to the Amstel. We had steaks (both beef and tuna). They don't ask you how you would like your steak cooked and it comes out perfect - meltingly tender. Tuna also very good. We had chips with mayonnaise and the house mixed salad as an accompaniment. This is quite a big... More

Loetje aan de Amstel - it's a picturesque location on the water in Ouderkerk but the food is pretty disgusting. If your idea of fine dining is a mediocre steak swimming in three inches of burnt margarine, this is the place for you. If you set your bar a little higher, then probably not.

Second time in "Loetje" and enjoyed again the ambiance and food Modern setup in rustique environment. good food, nice service. Enjoyed again their excellent Veal Steak wit red union and bacon, delicious. Their Tuna Steak and Sateh are fine. Will go again when I am in Amstelveen

First time here for business lunch, got a very good impression on this resto. It has good food, good services, and located in a very nice spot by the riverside/ canal in Holland. Eight of us had a good lunch there, order steaks and sandwiches, with fries and mushrooms as side dishes. Recommended place to eat!

We visited Loetje for lunch. It is a well known place in Amsterdam and famous for its perfect meat dishes. Go to Loetje if you like steak. I ordered a Bali Steak and my wife a sandwich. Both were delivered quickly although the steak unfortunately was a normal steak and not the Bali version. It was quickly exchanged so we... More

Been three times in recent months. Lovely terrace on the Amstel river, but with sunny weather tables run out fast. Excellent tuna steaks and - according to my company - great steaks too. Portion of fries is large, so you may wish to order to share. Service is cheerful and efficient.

This was my second time visiting Loetje in the past 16 months. The first time I had the Argentinian steak and this time I had the fish. Both experiences have been very good. The steak was tender and moist. The fish was nicely baked though I was surprised it had its head still on and roe inside. I liked the... More

Great location, especially when the weather is good. Try to reserve a table outside by the side of the Amstel river
