The good and simple food is nicely presented and the service ok. Their home made beer is also very interesting. The amber beer is the best of the three they brew.

The food is good and even acceptably reasonable by Swiss standards. While the overall atmosphere is pleasant and quiet enough, you have to be very patient for your main course to arrive. The service staff are neither swift nor attentive. On the plus side, however, the restaurant’s little microbrewery is really rather good indeed. Opt for their amber beer and... More

We stopped into picturesque Chateau d'Oex and chose to have dinner here based on TripAdvisor reviews. It is a fun, informal place that brews its own beer and serves a variety of Swiss specialties. The portions are generous and everyone enjoyed their meal (and beer drinkers enjoyed the beer!). The only issue was it seemed that there was a service... More

This bistro-style restaurant is conveniently located across the tourist office, a mere 10-minute walk from the railway station. Staff is welcoming and friendly (speaking French makes things easier, though). However, service speed is very fluctuating. As starter I opted for the onion soup with gratinated cheese: a bit tasteless, nothing to speak home about. The main course was much better:... More

All four of us arrived for an early dinner. 3 of us had macaroni a la maison and one had a fondue. All was readily eaten and declared as a great meal all round. Until next time.

We have visited this restaurant on a number of occasions and it has become a favourite on our visits to the beautiful town of Chateau d'Oex. The staff are very friendly and there is always someone who can speak English if needed. The menu at first seems quite complicated and it is worth taking time to read it properly. The... More

Centrally located and right on the "main strip". I've eaten here about 10 times. They have a rather standard offering but it's well done and priced at a rate that is quite normal for Swtizerland. The small dining room is often full and a reservation would be recommended. They brew their own beer and it's pretty tasty stuff (all 5... More

We decided to have dinner here on our first night of a recent long weekend trip to chateau d'oex as it was opposite our hotel. It was a busy Friday night but we received a warm welcome and thankfully we can speak a bit of French which seems to be well received. We opted for the cheese fondue which is... More

Good town restaurant , nothing special but good for the village and no need to travel if one does not want to go as far as Rougemont or Gstaad . Always friendly and adequate . I use it often and it is more than ok . The home brewed beer is good and unusual . If you are in the... More
