We actually searched this place out based upon reviews. We ordered from the pilgrims' menu and should not have done so. Pasta with bologonese was missing the meat, pasta arrabiata was missing the sausage. The soup was adequate as were the salads. The pana cotta was passable. The chocolate cake was actually a biscuit and it was excellent? The pizzas... More

Just back to our hotel now. Met 4 friends for dinner. Had the special. To DIE for! Pals had ravioli with sage butter-delish! Husband added caprese- huge hunks of tomato and mozzarella- FRESH! Walking the Camino - did not do the PEREGRINO menu but the selections there looked good as well. Go!

We stopped here on our Camino cycling trip. The albergue is funky and has lots of character with giant murals in the main albergue sleeping quarters and handwritten notes from pilgrims all over the walls. We stayed in one of the private rooms with giant windows looking to the north. The restaurant is fantastic. Do ask the restaurant staff for... More

Wonderful food. OMG the spinach flan was amazing. And great sangria (made by a very cute bartender!). After some pretty average pelligrino meals along the camino this was a delicious change, if a little expensive when ordering a la carte, well worth the money though.

Came here for the second time - great food, atmosphere, service, value for money - definitely a place to stop if you are doing the camino and tired of tortilla and jamon serrano !

Our bodies were craving pasta after a week and almost two hundred kilometres on the Camino Frances. We asked at the Tourist Office if Sarria had any Italian restaurants. The staff gave us the name of Matias Locanda Italiana. We found it during the siesta and were told that it would open for dinner at 6 p.m. We were the... More

Besides Lara's uncanny skill in the kitchen, they also run an albergue (hostel) with the option to have a private room. There is also an outdoor space to eat and enjoy a beer or vino tinto. The most amazing aspect of the place is the people, Alex, the owner and Lara his wife along with Luca and Paul. They are... More

Do not miss this place. Food is excellent as is the staff. A true gem on the Camino. You are encouraged to write on the walls, floor, etc. Neat touch given the many nationalities that pass through here.
