Great meal in a great location

This is a family run restaurant with Kathy and her son John. The location on the water is fabulous, choice of inside or outside seating. There is a great choice of both meat and fish on the menu and the fish is always super fresh thanks to the harbour just outside. Kathy, John and the staff bend... read more

We have been going to La Clota for many years and have always enjoyed our meals there. However, we took very good friends on Easter Sunday and came away very disappointed. The service (even for Catalonian standards) was very slow, disorganised and the food was of average quality and two dishes were cold when served. The lamb chops were shrivelled... More

La Clota is a beautifully located restaurant which looks out onto the Bay of Roses in the marina area of the town. Food is generally of a very high quality and there is an excellent wine list. It is certainly possible to eat cheaper in l’Escala but La Clota is worth considering if you wish to treat yourself. If you’re... More

We stayed in L'Escala as an extended family in the residential area. La Clota was a reasonable walk in the harbour area. As there was a large group we booked. We all sat together outside. It is an excellent location overlooking the harbourside and can also be well protected if the weather isn't kind. The menu offers a good selection... More

We sat outside, delightful staff, great service. I would recommend the muscles, delicious . My husband ordered the Monkfish, we didn't expect it to come whole...it looked amazing, the waiter showed my husband the cheek of the fish, a delicacy which he enjoyed. The wine was delicious and very good value. Most of the customers when we visited at lunchtime... More

This restaurant is situated right on the harbour in l'Escala. This was mu second visit. The staff are all lovely, very friendly and the food is excellent. Probably one of the best steaks I have had anywhere. Good selection on the menu fish and meat I can highly recommend La Clota to anyone in the area.

Went to La Clota with some friends and had a wonderful experience, the fish was the freshest I have tasted in this area of Spain, the sea bream cooked in salt is very special!!!!.The owners kathy and John could not do enough for myself and friends. The view across the port as sun goes down just adds to this special... More

I am a regular visitor to the area and a trip would not be complete without one visit to La Clota. The owner, Kathy, and her son John, are wonderfully friendly and helpful, and the staff are equally as pleasant. The food is always good - the gazpacho is wonderful, and the saltbaked bream and fideua are personal favourites. There... More

During our recent stay in L'Escala we stopped at La Clota on our morning walk to the harbour. Great coffee, friendly staff and wonderful views. We are looking forward to eating at the restaurant at our next visit.

I was recently in L`Escala on a sailing course and we stayed loger than planned due to strong winds. Fortunately La Clota restaurant was ideally located for us and we were able to enjoy several evenings of excellent meals. The hosts are particularly welcoming and it was clear that many of the customers were regulars (ex-pat and Spanish) or returning... More
