The food is good. Highlights included the shrimp and a refreshing salad. The decor is clean and beautiful. But, the best thing about this place is a great view and casual pace for an intimate lunch just off the super busy main drag. It's very relaxing.

We walked up and down the sea-front searching for the restaurant in the "sea wall" to the right of the Dali statue - as you look out to sea. Baluard being translated as Bastion. It is on the first floor above the promenade up some steps. When you look up you see the name and two nice window tables, one... More

Good quality of dishies specially fresh fish. Tradicional Costa Brava meals. Recommended all "suquets". A good quality of wines. Placed in front of the sea. It has to be on the top 10 of restaurants in Cadaqués

Not cheap and not expensive, typical local food, everything is fresh, family business (papa on the kitchen, mother+daughter are waiters). Good location-view...One of the best paella in Cadaques (not truistic-plastic)

Superb food. Good wine list. Service was first class. Surprised to see this restaurant given a relatively low listing. Atmosphere a little bit staid, but a quick preview at Sunday lunchtime (we ate on Sunday evening) revealed a lively and very busy restaurant.

Es Baluard was traditionally regarded as one of the best restaurants in Cadaques, if not the best, but on our last two visits its clear that its been left behind by a number of the newer arrivals. The menu hasnt changed in years to any degree and although the quality of the food is fine, it lacks the sparkle and... More

Very good menu and wine selesction. If you want to get something nicer than the average fish restaurant - you find it here. Try to book a table with view!

Pleasantly away from the hubbub of the city, the restaurant perches on the edge of the old city walls above the harbour. With the museum of modern art next door, it is a great place to chill out.

This place is #1 - everything we ordered was phenomenal: one of the best fish soups I've had, delicious bacalao croquetas and the paella mixta was amazing. The meat was perfectly cooked and the seafood was fresh. Very impressed with Es Baluard. Will be returning on my next trip to Cadaques
