It would be unfair to say don't go here for gourmet cooking as this is not what this restaurant is about. We'd tried the top rated restaurants in Cadaques and wanted something more down to earth. La Cala is a family run, very friendly and relaxed restaurant with a large range of local seafood, meat and Catalan dishes. You feel... More

We stop by La Cala for lunch. While this is clearly not an upscale restaurant, it serves many typical Spanish dishes. The tortilla was good, the octopus delicious and the water ice cold. On the other end the fried calamari were not that great. Price, including salad, was less than 20 euro per person which was actually great considering quality... More

This restaurant reminds me of the places I used to eat at in Granada in the 1970's. local, well cooked food, served promptly and without ceremony. I enjoyed beautifully presented carpaccio of bacalao and delicious chicken. Red wine at 6 euros a bottle and a good cafe cortado to finish. Great atmosphere too.

If you want sycophantic waiters to fawn over you whilst charging the earth for mediocre tourist food there are plenty of other places to go in Cadaques; however If you want good, freshly prepared local food at reasonable prices in an unassuming typical Spanish restaurant then La Cala is perfect. It is all it doesn't claim to be: an oasis... More

I eat nearly half of my dinners while in Cadaques at La Cala. The food is simple - few ingredients, with one large pepper or a few potato wedges to compliment nearly every main dish - but everything is cooked to perfection. Their fish dishes are always wonderful, I love the chiperones to start, and the rabbit and chicken are... More

Our hotel owner recommended this restaurant as the antidote to the tourist traps which Cadaques specialises in. Great place, especially as the owners don't speak English or French so we had to use our Spanish! Local food,no chi chi, incredible value for money. Only downside is the desserts which are all Nestle Ice Creams but the rest of the menu... More

Arriving in Cadaqués at noon with a group of ten on a very busy summer weekend, I was pretty sure that trying to find a place for lunch would be a total nightmare. We weren't looking for anything fancy, just some decent food at a not too unreasonable price, but Cadaqués being such a touristy place, and seeing how chock-full... More

The restaurant doesn't look much from the street but well worth stepping inside and taking a table. TV at the back switched on to the football...Great menu with large choice. Service with a smile, it feels like a family affair. Every time we drove past there were people at the tables, locals and tourists alike.

La Cala is a traditional Catalan restaurant about a block from the Cadaques harbor. We had an excellent meal here but quite simple mean here. Wines are reasonable priced and the atmosphere is friendly. Try the chipirones, fried baby squid.
