A gem in Corralejo

The Food Bloggers were delighted, many years ago, to find a real restaurant in Corralejo on Fuerteventura. By real we mean 1) the menu is not accompanied by pictures and bad translations; 2) there are not touts standing outside it harassing passers by, asking ‘you hungry? I do you special'; 3... read more

We ate at El Anzuelo on the night of the burning of the sardine. We may have chosen the wrong night because the restaurant's location meant it was busy and they were not coping terribly well. Food was ok but nothing special and service was occasionally rude and generally uninterested. In a town with so many good value restaurants this... More

We visited 2 days after enjoying a splendid meal at their other resto La Mariana, which was hard to miss since the menu card is exactly the same. The rest however is not. Where to begin. We ordered 3 plates one after the other. The staff, clearly having trouble understanding Spanish completely ignored this and served all of our dishes... More

We tried this for lunch and have to say we were very impressed. Having not read the reviews surprised at the comments. Our impression was of professional service and good food. We had fish soup and a range of starters which were beautiful.

When I came to review this and looked at the other reviews I thought I had got the wrong restaurant. This was by far the best meal I had during the week we were there.

We walked by El Anzuelo several times and it looked clean and smart so we decided to give it a try. What a disappointment! Service was slow and impersonal and the food was very poor. My husband had the baby squid to start which came with a pungent bright green garlic dip and another chilli dip. Both were overpowering. We... More

We returned to this restaurant having had a very good experience some 3 years previous. I wish I had read the recent reviews. Service was slow having taken the waiting staff some 5 mins to notice that we were standing in the doorway waiting to be seated. Starter's were pretty good, prawns with garlic in olive oil and padron peppers.... More

We went there for dinner in 6 adults and one small baby, pleasantly staff with were low English level... my family, despite my experience, was satisfied on average. But all what i want to say is sea food/shellfish are the most dangerous hazard in the gastronomy business! my order was mix grilled fish and sea food for (think 16€) any... More

as previous reviews state the food here is good - especially the fish dishes but it is let down by erratic service. However that never puts us off visiting this restaurant each time we go to Correlejo and I think it should have a higher rating.

We went here for lunch for our first year anniversary of marriage. The restaurant had a lovely location but that was all that was great about it. We ordered the only two soups on the menu to start off with. It took the waiter 30 - 40 mins to bring them out. He didn't even deliver them himself another person... More
