Culinary Surprises

The Chef at El Olivo has a wonderfully playful way of using traditional Spanish ingredients and presenting them in a new and exciting way. We had the most delicious salt crusted sea bass which was a special of the day and it was flavorful and cooked perfectly. You have to order the salt baked... read more

It was delightful to sit leisurely and see the sun going down over the hill and then disappearing towards the sea Dinner was truly excellent and the chef's signature dishes are out standing. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and were most attentive. Well worth a visit if you are visiting Deia and a great bonus... More

Have eaten here as a small party in the past and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, service and food. This time we were part of a party of 40. The restaurant was full with two birthday parties and other diners. We started late as some of our group were delayed by 1.5 hrs due to a local traffic accident at a... More

Although we've eaten here many many times it has been a couple of years since our last visit. I'm delighted to report that the standard has been maintained, if not improved. The service impeccable and the food superb. We had dinner on two occasions, once inside and once on the terrace. Wines a tad expensive, but try the Sea Bass... More

This is not a restaurant for people on a budget. To be sure of a table you will need to book well in advance. It is probably one of the best restaurants on God's Earth. Don't look at the prices, simply enjoy each mouth-watering course and relax. You can sort out the credit card when you get home.

I liked the chef and service. I liked the ambience. I liked the food. But something is missing. The menu needs to give guests a greater choice and needs to change more often. It is also ridiculously expensive - in fact, too expensive, bearing in mind that the pound is, at the moment, strong against the euro. Prices per dish... More

Dear Guest, Many thanks for your review and feedback about your experience. El Olivo has a unique setting in Deià in a 16th century olive press. Its terrace has most probably one of the best views in Tramuntana. The menu has 26 dishes, plus a cheese and wine dessert menu, besides two gastronomic set menus, of 5 and 7 courses.... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your visit and feedback. I am very sorry to read that although you liked the setting and the service, you did not think the entire experience worth the price. Our prices are displayed clearly on the menu, which is visible at the entrance of the hotel, entrance of the restaurant and at the reception, so... More

This was a lovely dining experience in a very pretty room with excellent service. Very classy but not stuffy. The food good but not as good as I hoped given the sticker price and the high level of class and service at the hotel. We enjoyed our meal, but to tell the truth, we enjoyed our meal at some restaurants... More
