Recommended by locals we met at the coast, we decided to give this tiny village with an interesting history a go. The drive from the Frigiliana road was about 1.7km and more a track than a road, winding up and down the mountain. Brilliant views, be prepared for some sharp intakes of breath as you turn round some of the... More

My wife and I visited this for the first time with friends who had been before. Everything lived up to the descriptions and expectations - although the last mile proved a little scary for my wife!! Coming back seemed less so! Beautiful location, good quality Spanish hill fare, service polite and easy, will definitely go again and recommend to friends.

To reach the restaurant you will have to go on a dirt track for about 1 mile. It's a bumpy ride with a normal car. The location of the restaurant is great in a very small village. The quality of the food is very good, real Spanish meals. The service was poor. The waiter let us wait for about half... More

Having lived in these parts for some time I have finally gotten around to paying a visit to the "lost or hidden" village of Acebuchal. My wife and I were not disappointed in what we found. Very charming and tastefully restored buildings in a marvelous mountain valley setting. Visitors should be eternally grateful to Virtudes, the wife of Antonio the... More

We visited this restaurant for lunch during our holiday in Frigiliana. It is in a tiny village 10-15 mins drive into the hills, along a road that is not much more than a dirt track in places - fortunately I wasn't driving! We sat under the covered terrace and enjoyed some delicious home made bread, and the menu is mostly... More

Our third visit to the little bar/restaurant at El Acebuchal (the lost Village) the history of this village is very interesting, so worth going if you are brave enough to drive along the very rough road...not open at night! We had two different dishes accompanied by a very nice bottle of wine and a loaf of their homemade artisan bread,... More

Has to be seen to be believed, this hidden village is beautiful, seeped in history, rustic delicious food, the most fabulous bread and cakes. I walk here every week, sometimes more, I love it as much as the first day I saw it. Apart from the setting and the food, there is the staff, top chefs Antonio and Sebastian, it... More

We didn't eat at the restaurant, just a 'coffee break', but have to say if you are staying in the area and have hired a car, it's a very interesting place to visit. Be prepared though the road to the village is very rough and no wider than a track in places, but it adds to the experience! We arrived... More

We have been coming here since it was first opened and although in a way we miss the original rustic charm, the new slick, sophisticated business is fabulous. The family are very welcoming and always seem to be really pleased to see us. The salads are the best with a mixture of the usual ingredients with fruit and cheese. Our... More

This tiny hamlet restaurant & bar have been completely overhauled since 1998 when the family returned long after the Civil War. They have been busy ever since. Indoor & outdoor bar restaurants are basic, definitely rustic Spanish and a fantastic menu which includes venison, rabbit, wild boar, goat, chicken etc. Well used by walkers, hikers & cyclists it has great...
