This is a wonderful place to visit on a warm sunny day. The view is marvellous. Excellent country cooking at reasonable prices. When in season, the beans and ham are the best I have ever tasted! Friendly service.

We ate here three times in the three weeks we were in Frigiliana. Each time the food was excellent, you do have to wait sometimes but the beans with ham are worth waiting for. We have had tapas as well as a meal all excellent.

We generally eat here twice a week when we are on holiday here. This is a family run Spanish restaurant that serves fantastic comida casera ( home cooked food). This is the equivalent in Englandshire to eating decently without a microwave! Blightys that come and complain that there are no chicken nuggetts or fish fingers should go to fast food... More

Called in to make a booking. Told by waitress they were closed even though I had just been invited in. She was so rude I didn`t even make a booking. So go there if you want to be given a lecture. I can't advise you on the food.

we stayed in a villa within 200 yards of bar el cerro so we obviously had to try it out. we ate there 3 times and as other reviewers have said, there is a bit of a wait sometimes. this is due to the waitress taking the order and serving food on her own so when its busy you have... More

I have read with interest all the reviews and it is apparent that you either 'get' bar el Cerrlo or you don't. The sign to the restaurant clearly states that the restaurant provides home cooking, and that is what you get! On the many occasions that we have visited (and this will be our first stop in a couple of... More

The food has improved since the mother who ran it was replaced by her daughter but the service is abysmal. When we went last week it was pretty busy, almost full. Now I don't object to long drawn out lunches with plenty of different racciones but waiting a hour and a half for the salad is just not acceptable. We... More

If you are looking for gourmet food and first class service then this is NOT the place for you. Plastic chairs and tables are what you get. With a paper table cloth. It is about a 5 minute very twisty drive from the village. The views are amazing. Views are superb. Food is what I would call rustic. We ate... More

Our start in this restaurant was not a pleasant one due to the rudeness of the waitress. We had to wait quite long for our food, which was of poor quality. The quality of the views from this location was much better. But that is not where a restaurant is for.

After reading other reviews I must be expecting too much and a great cook....I had the stew, which was dry as a bone, and clearly 2mins in the microwave ...hell but you are on holiday so don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed ... It is what it is. Little bar, no gourmet servings
