Amazing food beautifully crafted and is both a pleasure to look at as well as to eat. The pork tenderloin with caramelised onion is pure joy :-) Very reasonably priced and worth a visit or three! Can't understand why this is not ranked number one on TA given some of the awful food it's up against!

We found this place on the recommendation of a local. Once discovered, we returned several more times. It's a tiny little bar with stools and barrels spilling out onto the streets. Most places you have tapa in will give you some plain bread with a random meat product on it, or similar, in a generic home cooked fashion. Whilst this... More

For a tiny bar in a tiny street the tapas we had was incredible - beautifully presented, speedily delivered and so tasty - the staff were great - so professional and helpful. The sangria de cava and Rioja just perfect - even the music was class! .... And then they showed us the kitchen! Smallest I have ever seen and... More

We have been coming to the Mijas area for a number of years and it was fantastic to find (via Tripadvisor) such a great place. Food was excellent and really different, got very busy after 9.00 and it is small so if you want to go then I suggest you book. We had a mixture of Tapas and Raciones, next... More

Mijas Pueblo sells itself as traditional and there are many solid, traditional restaurants providing exactly the same food you'd expect for visiting tourists. In amongst them tucked down a back street is this hole in a wall tapas bar serving outstanding dishes with flair and imagination that would not be out of place in Madrid or Barcelona. A huge list of... More

Fantastic little tapas bar with a modern take on the whole tapas thing. Imagine a 5 star restaurant then make the portions and prices a bit more tapas. This place is fantastic and would not be out of place in the trendy upmarket part of any large cosmopolitan european city the fact its in the beautiful unspoilt village of mijas... More

This bodega is a jewel to say the least. Food was superb, service was impeccable and I miss it so. The variety is out of this world. Something for everyone. Chef and his staff was so great! My wife and I went twice on our visit to Mijas and cannot wait to go again! If in Mijas and you love... More

Fantastic tapas with a contemporary twist, simple food cooked perfectly. Quite a small bar so reserve your table to avoid disappointment. Great value also and very friendly staff. Thank you Bodega el Placer, we shall come again!

Very small bar but a wonderful variety of tapas - best in Mijas. El Placer gin very nice but quite expensive. Look forward to our next visit to Mijas

Here we had yesterday the best tapas we ever had in the region. Also the wine was excellent and this for a very reasonable price. We will be back ;-)
