Surprisingly good food

Most Mexican restaurants are really Tex Mex , but this little gem has the authentic feel of Mexico. Quaint decor , smiling young staff and genuine imported beers help to provide the atmosphere that reminds me of that lovely , fun , country. Great authentic food, friendly people and a nice atmosphere. Located next to Tito's beachbar. Frequently live Mexican music.

We have visited La Cantina a few times but it just gets better & better. Our visit in April included entertainment by a brilliant Mexican themed singer Pepe. The food is excellent and the service first class. This is a sister restaurant to Tito's Chiringuito and complements it very well. You can be assured of a very warm welcome at... More

I went to this restaurant with my husband on new years day for lunch. Fantastic, tasty food which was well presented and the service was faultless. Good value and a nice tequila shot to finish! A very chilled out atmosphere, I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Part of the Tito's complex, El Cantina offers a great venue, food and staff. Four of us ate, drank and enjoyed the entertainment and ambience immensely. Saturday nights are real fun with mariachi music. We all left in high spirits after a wonderful night out. I'm looking forward to spending more time at this place now it's open for lunch... More

Hi Nigel Thanks for your great review. I'm so pleased that you and your friends enjoyed the food, drink and the music. Yes, the Mariachi Evenings are so much fun aren't they!? Especially with a few impromtu guests getting involved.... We have also taken the live music from the beachbar to the Cantina on Sunday's to compliment the Saturday evening... More

Visited twice during a weeks holiday in August, found the staff very friendly and attentive but not overly which is fine with me, the fajitas were fantastic, never seen 3 different meat choices as standard before, 6 other dishes of guacamole and sour cream and the like to choose from, I over ordered as it all looks and tastes so... This place is just around the corner from Casa Justa and Bar Le Sarten the oldest pub in mojocar, I was looking forward to lamb tangine but at 15 euro its a bit steep.

Hi Peggy Thanks for posting the review but sadly I think you have confused us with a restaurant in Mojacar village? Bar La Sarten and Casa Juana are in the heart of the pueblo (village) and we are a Mexican restaurant/bar on the beach about 5 kms away from the village. Also we don't serve Lamb Tagine on our Mexican... More

We ate at the cantina on a quiet Wednesday night in May. We are regulars at TITO'S for lunch and had visited the Cantina once before. We had a lovely evening, the service was great, our host was helpful and seemed keen to ensure we had a good night. Food was great, tasty and fresh, the atmosphere in the restaurant... More

The service was perfect but the food is terrible! We ordered Guacamole and there were more tomatoe in than avocat! We ordered also tacos... Bad idea. The cheese was disgusting and the meat didn't have flavour. The restaurant is very cute, it was like being in Mexico. I hope they change their chef because it could work pretty well if... More

This restaurant reflects everything that is great about Mojacar. An authentic Mexican meal of very high quality and excellent friendly service. This restaurant is owned by Tito & Barbara who own & run Tito's Chiringito, which is famous for being one of the best restaurants in Mojacar. I would highly recommend La Cantina.
