Traditionally bacalhau in Portugal is the dried version (not coming from Portugal any more, but arriving from all over the world), but in many restaurants you cannot see from the menu if they mean this, or the fresh version (which often comes grilled, and with french fries, you know what I mean). We like the dried one, especially the bacalhau... More

This restaurant is really one of best placed in Portugal. The terrace on the riverside has a very nice atmosphere. Not only very good dishes but hard working and nice people to serve you. You will go there more often....

Normally I do not go to the same place when I visit a new city twice, but this restaurant is worth breaking this habit! The service was super nice and friendly. The food - super delicious. And location - just great. Not to mention that the prices are NOT scary at all either. Recommended!

Codfish is a very famous ingredient on portuguese cuisine, is often said that portuguese can cook cod fish over a 1000 different ways. This restaurant is all about cod fish, from starters to mains, there's plenty of options, some of them more traditional, other more creative and modern. I tried 3 different types, my favorite is "Bacalhau à Brás". The... More

This restaurant specialises in cod and has 14 different cod dishes on the menu. We had a lovely meal here whilst looking over to the Ribeira on the other side of the Douro. Good service and good value. Would definitely recommend and go again!

This dish may not be everyones cup of tea, especially if you have ever seen it in its non hydrated uncooked form, but I actually like it. We were walking passed and spoke to the waiter who was polite and didn't put us under any pressure to eat there. We went back later and got a table outside. The food... More

In summary you only smell bacalhau, the dishes just filled with nata (cream), potatoes and onions. The bacalhau a bras was nice (although not very hot, probably it was cooked in advance and just warmed up before serving) but the bacalhau com natas had NO BACALHAU inside! and not so cheap for Porto, either.

This place isn't right on the waterside - a local told us to avoid those! Sat outside surrounded by locals & by time we left, locals were lined up. No wonder. Delicious bread & soup. Shared a cod dish in bechamal sauce. It was very good & more than euough for two at lunch. Friendly service.
