Seafood here is great, especially love the AYCE crablegs on Monday nights! If you like oysters, they have a nice variety.

This is my staple restaurant in Norfolk, but it is no longer my favorite. I still love the staff, really nice folks, just about all of them (some of the greeters are a bit officious at times, but no matter...) The issue is that the food has slipped a notch-- the chefs are still excellent, but the owner seems to... More

Great place for the freshest oysters in tidewater. Fantastic beer menu, great service. NOT FANCY. We were in town for 5 days and ate lunch and dinner twice.

We have eaten here many times and enjoy the seafood and sides. Service is normally good, wait time is often 15-30 minutes and beer selection is great. However if you like to pair your seafood with a good wine you will be sorely disappointed. Oyster selection is very broad and good.

Gosh, right hard to find this place using the GPS. But, we caught sight of it even though the directions didn't send us there. A bit funky, and quite full given that it was on a Monday evening. We had to sit on the porch due to the crowd inside. We chatted with the server who asked how we found... More

Went here with friends. We all lived out of town. The place is open until 2am as we needed a late dinner. The staff was great. I am a vegetarian and was surprised that they had a vegan chicken po' boy that was out of this world. The sides were excellent too! My friends all had the oysters and crabs,... More

It's great to go to a place that makes you feel welcome, especially when you're on a business trip and dining alone. Service was great, and my meal of a generous Greek salad and 1/2 lb of steamed shrimp. It was great! Highly recommended!

First, thanks to the earlier reviews that pointed me to this place. Particularly helpful was the fact that it was in a shopping center and difficult to find. If you have directions pull into this shopping center and keep going to the section away from the road in which you cannot see the store signs until you are right up... More

Drove around the block several times before spotting AW Shucks. So glad we found it. Ate lunch on first visit. Loved It! The fresh fish was indeed fresh and magnificiently prepared. The lunch special was a good value. Tried the crab chowder. Loaded with crab. Yum! The feta/tomato salad was fabulous. It was tomato season and you could tell that... More

Me and the hubbs have been coming here for years. The food and service are always consistent. I know that food will be fresh and delish. The servers are knowledgable and most of them have worked there for years. Love me some A W Shucks!
