We have visited Green Onion many times over the years-- frequently for mussels. On a recent visit the mussels were just average-- a little smelly but most were OK. The service was good. The restaurant suffers in the winter from being rather cold-- lots of glass on two sides.

Service was very friendly, and there was a reasonable drink selection including wines, beer and mixed drinks. We were there for a late lunch, and the menu was a bit limited, but included some tasty options. I ordered the portobello burger, and split an arugula and brie salad with my daughter, and both were very good.

Popped in for a quick bite last night. Was very disappointed. Wait staff was friendly - no complaints there. Ordered Tomato Bisque. Soup usually comes with bread as standard. No bread. We asked and were told we had to order bread separately, which we did. It took 20 mins to arrive by which time the soup was gone! Bread and... More

Check the menu online before you go. Brunch is way overpriced for what you get. Obviously not a favorite with us

The menu had a good variety of interesting offerings, making selection difficult. However, we were pleased with our choices ... delicious food and reasonably priced. Nice outdoor patio for agreeable weather.

Green Onion is one of my favorite casual restaurants with upscale New American/Country French cuisine. Lunch features unique turns on salads, soups and sandwiches. Their spinach salad with scallops is excellent and their frites with sandwiches are magnifique! Dinner includes great mussels, scallops, oyster and fried green tomato apps and the seafood and meat entrees vary from scallops, salmon and... More

Looked good from the outside - they offer outside dining and Colley is a great street in downtown Norfolk to enjoy...inside is nicely decorated...BUT, the food left something to be desired for the price you are paying...It was just AVERAGE. Dined there for brunch and thought the food I ordered was OK but I could have gotten it at IHOP... More

Its not the prettiest restaurant you will go to, but don't let that deter you. The food is crazy good. We shared meals, we had the tomato bisque, rich, creamy fresh, we fought over their delicious croutons, which, by the way, if you order this ask for extra croutons. The muscles were delicious, the broth was worth drinking up or... More

the wife and i went here for a saturday brunch on our anniversary weekend. we walked down colley and looked at a couple other restaurants but decided to go for the slightly pricier option because the atmosphere looked a bit more 'anniversary weekend' speed. the service was excellent and the food was fantastic. I had the shrimp and grits and... More
