Good environment, great service

Wine and cheese flight was great, the atmosphere was just right as well. Service was friendly and fast. Crab cakes were ok, lobster roll was more of a lobster "salad roll" but ok nonetheless.

We had the New England Lobster Rolls. Very tasty! Food is a bit pricey but it is fine dining after all . I have heard mussel night is great here. Our waitress Heather was very helpful and knowledgable when we needed a rundown of the different wines.

My husband adores the Green Onion. The meals and service have been acceptable but nothing great. The food is typically okay. I've never had a horrible experience but it wouldn't be my recommendation for dining in Norfolk

Sunday brunch -- a long-standing tradition in the House, and TGO (The Green Onion, for acronym-impaired types) was on the rotation until about a year ago (came off for reasons not worth going into, believe me). So we decided to let bygones be bygones, and give the place another chance. Long story short -- nope, not worth it, particularly with... More

I'm a local, and every time I eat at the Green Onion it is a fabulous dining experience. The Lobster Roll is to die for, but I have to tell you I have ordered all sorts of delicious meals from their eclectic menu. Vegetarians ok. They will fix you something to your liking. Great dirty martini. Love, love, love this restaurant!... More

The food offered has a French quality. We've tried many different dishes, and each one was wonderful! Prices are moderate. Highly recommend!

We ate here during the "between meals" timeframe around 4:30PM on a Friday. We were seated promptly and the server was very friendly and able to answer all questions. Overall, service was a little slow given how empty the restaurant was. The food was very good, but the portions were rather small and a little pricey (there's better value on... More

Really awesome tomato bisque with an awesome "bread" cheese. Nice wine selections. Service was friendly and timely without being pushy.

I happened upon this place on accident several years ago and I still love it. Small and quaint. Service is amazing. But that Lobster Roll!! Oh my goodness....With the fresh cut french fries....They make their own ketchup! Who does that? It's not a set price. It's by the market price. I don't care...I still buy it every time I go... I ordered the French Toast and a Bellini. My friends ordered the Eggs Benedict and BLT. We all enjoyed our dishes. The frites that were served with the Eggs Benedict were delicious! I would return just for the frites. I rated Green Onion as "Very Good" instead of "Excellent" because the service was slow and our waitress wasn't very attentive.
