We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Omar's Carriage House before attending the Holiday Pops show. Omar's atmosphere is intimate and welcoming, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The menu offers a wonderful range of selections, making it difficult to choose. I had the tuna dinner and it was perfect. I highly recommend dining here.

What wonderfu food! My wife and I stopped in on Thursday. We ordered crab cakes, seafood gumbo and the peach glazed salad all to go. It took us 5 minutes to walk back to the hotel another 5 to get settled in. What a pleasant surprise the seafood gumbo was wonderful a dark flavorful rue with clams mussels shrimp topped... More

On a recent vacation with my family at a resort in Virginia Beach we each had a day to pick where we wanted to have lunch. My sister picked Omar's Carriage House as she worked in the area forty years ago. Lunch in the unique restaurant was delicious. Everything we had was wonderful. Great Service and Management. Omar came in... More

Four of us celebrate our birthdays, which happen in September and October with dinner out. This year we went to the Carriage House. We have eaten at the Carriage House often over the years. We had a wonderful meal and all enjoyed the ambiance of the place. It is hard to explain why some restaurants have such a warm and welcoming... More

This restaurant has been around for years, but it never fails to qualify as a great time. The food, drinks and service are always great. The old carriage house adds a unique charm to any occasion.

Even though we did not have reservations, the staff managed to fit us in. The upstairs room had a party of 41 and downstairs was a party of 21 plus other diners. That being said, other than the background noise, my wife and I received service that made us feel as if we were the only people in the place.... More

Lovely setting in old Freemason area of Downtown, in an old legit carriage house. Small and comfortable with eclectic decor, but don't be fooled, the culinary offerings are superb. Front and back of house staff are solid. Great warm bread & fresh butter, a thoughtful wine selection at modest prices for a restaurant, and a range of star attractions for... More

Went for dinner based on a recommendation from my grandson's fiance. The menu was interesting and the food just as good as promised. There was a relatively small wine list, but it listed good wines at fair prices. There is a very small parking lot next to the restaurant, otherwise parking is likely to be a problem. The service we... More

Omar is a gifted restaurant owner and operator and is well known in the community. I have known him for over 25 years. The restaurant itself is charming and warm. The menu changes seasonally, and the food is delicious. It is my place to go for special events, but enjoy it with friends for lunch as well.

Our family stopped here for lunch after going to the Virginia Zoo (excellent!) due to the rating on trip advisor. Small room with limited seating, but no problems possibly because it was late lunchtime. All our meals were interesting but I do think my daughter's Grilled Chicken Apple Bacon sandwich was fantastic. I had the B.A.T. sandwich which was a... More
