Visited Omar's Carriage House on a recent business trip. The restaurant was walking distance from our B&B, The Page House Inn, and offered free desserts to guests at the B&B. Two of our group of 6 ordered starter salads. The spinach salad with roasted beets, goat cheese and cider dressing was tasty but not "special" the beets did not have... More

Looking for a place to dine and came across Omar's Carriage House. One of the finest meal experiences my wife and I have ever enjoyed. Excellent food and service. I can't wait to return. It was a wonderful date night. I am 65 years old, so you know we do not get many night out.

I've lived in Hampton Roads for thirty years. In my earlier days, before Omar bought The Carriage House, I lived in the apartment building next door. It was always a quaint little place with mediocre entreés, but the atmosphere made up for the mediocrity. Then... BAM! The atmosphere and ambiance still resonates as quaint, homey and personable... but the food... More

Everything was perfectly done, without pretense and obfuscation which is sooo prevalent in other, more 'hip" and trendy venues . . .

My friends and I get together once a month and none of us had been to Omar's Carriage House and decided to try something new. What a great experience! We were greeted promptly and did not have to wait for a table even though the restaurant was busy. Drinks came fast and the wine and beer list offered a large... More

I had my best meals in a town i did not expect to serve delicious food. Carriage's house is simple in its look but serve high end meal. The family and i had a great experience and we'll be back when we are in town again.

Each restaurant week we try places we haven't been. That is the point, right? I scanned the reviews before heading to Omar's (friends had already chosen the spot) and wasn't too impressed by others' experiences. Arriving at Omar's, the ambiance is quaint and friendly. It was packed, and I am not sure if that is due to the discount meal... More

Interesting menu. Chicken barbeque special was good. Homemade potato salad delicious. Pleasant atmosphere. Easy to converse at lunchtime. Service was good. A good balance of being proactively available without hovering.

I hadn't been to Omar's in ages.Three other friends joined me on a Sunday around noon for brunch. We didn't have a reservation, but were quickly seated. I love the cozy atmosphere. The food and service were good. I will definitely return for a meal at any time of the day. It's a nice change from the Ghent/Granby St. grind.... More

Went for brunch and we were greeting very rudely. Being an hour before the kitchen closed we were told our orders needed to be in by 3 as the kitchen closed then. In addition we were never asked if we wanted more drink just ignored as half the table had finished eatting before the bartender as if I liked my... More
